Memorial weekend is kicking off in the US and products of all shapes and sizes are going on sale. If you happen to be in the market for a speaker, it might be a great time to check out some of Wren's V5-series bookshelf speakers. Normally priced at between $199-$249 for models with a single connection type, these can be had for just $159 from Amazon, or direct from Wren with a discount code. The huge V5US all-in-one model with Bluetooth, Play-Fi, and Airplay is available for $399 with code.

Back in 2013, I reviewed the V5PF Play-Fi model, and then followed up with the V5US all-in-one model last year. I couldn't find enough ways to say that I loved the audio quality or the design of the speaker box. The only serious complaint was about the Play-Fi app: it's basically garbage–but that's not Wren's fault. My advice with the second review was to save some money and pick up the Bluetooth model and match it with a Chromecast Audio to get the best of both worlds. That's a pretty easy thing to do this weekend, Wren just started its own sale and a few other sites have joined in with their own stock.

If you're interested in the Bluetooth-only speaker, Amazon has it priced at $159. Only the bamboo (with silver face) is available for this model.

For a few more options, Wren's online store is running a 20% off Dads & Grads sale with the code DG16. The store has the V5BT Bluetooth model in Bamboo and the V5PF Play-Fi model in Bamboo and Rosewood, both for $159 after discount code. If you're looking for the V5US all-in-one model, it's available in Almond Creme Anigre (similar to Bamboo) and Espresso Wenge (very nearly black) for $399 with code. Orders from Wren include free shipping.

These are some great prices on some of the best speakers in the category. Just don't forget to keep an eye out for deals like this one to pick up a Chromecast Audio to drive it.
