In true Throwback Thursday fashion, Tiny Tower has been released on Android. What is this, 2011? No, it's still 2016, but this is a new version of Tiny Tower with a new listing in the Play Store. Do you dare dive back into this addictive tower builder?

Tiny Tower has been absent on Android since last year when the game was retired. It was published by, and tightly integrated with, the Mobage gaming network. Mobage decided to end support for a number of games (including Tiny Tower) in 2015.

Now, developer NimbleBit has its own version of Tiny Tower in the Play Store (without all that Mobage stuff built-in) five years after the game first launched. The gameplay seems largely the same with floor after floor of pixelated people to look after. The developers have added some new features, including the following.

  • Tons of new floors, costumes, lobbies, roofs, elevators, missions and BitBook posts!
  • New QuickStock features makes managing your tower even easier!
  • Pixel-Perfect graphics!
  • Trade bitizens with friends!
  • Rename your bitizens!
  • Earn new Golden Tickets

Tiny Tower is still a free-to-play game, but it lacks the cruel upsell of many modern titles. You can play it as long as you want for free. Progressing faster will cost you money, of course. You can spend as much as $40 on in-game currency if you want, but at least there's no $99.99 tier.
