Peach is a social network for fans of the female lead of Nintendo's Mario series that... oh, wait. Nope. It's a regular social network about, well, whatever you put up there. The interesting bit is that it's designed without a news feed or ticker, instead focusing on a modified messaging interface. The idea is to focus more on direct communication and less on passive browsing. Peach was formerly an iOS-only app, but it's come to Android after only a few weeks.

Life is filled with words, pictures, places, and songs worth sharing. Sometimes, a GIF says it all. When you put these things together, expressing yourself is faster, easier, and more fun. Peach connects you with friends and gives you freedom, so you can keep up with each other in a real and personal way. Peaching is just like texting, but better. Some words you type are magic words that give you quick access to all sorts of things to share, from drawings, links, and GIFs, to the weather, your current location, what you're watching tonight, how many steps you walked today, and much more.

Rewind is a standard sound recorder. It doesn't record backwards, despite the name, but it does make it quick and easy to activate the recording function thanks to a widget and notification button. Yes, this is definitely intended for surreptitious recording, so make sure you're complying with local laws when you're playing amateur investigator and/or lawyer.

Rewind allows you to passively record your surroundings. This app continuously runs in the background and records everything your phone hears, allowing you to save recent recording when you hear something you would like to keep. You can record from within the app, by toggling the app notification (you can disable this in the settings), or by using the app widget on your homescreen.

Json Genie (Viewer/Editor)

JSON is a data format used for a variety of programming and web functions. Json Genie is a developer tool to write, retrieve, and open Json files in an easy way from mobile. It integrates with standard web servers and more advanced tools like Dropbox, and it claims to handle relatively massive data files without a problem. The standard app is free, but the premium version removes ads and includes themes for $1.

Json Genie was created by the need of a developer. It is ridiculously fast, which was really important while creating the app. Our tests reveal that it opens a 2 MB json file in under a second. We even did tests with files over 50 MB and Json Genie handled them without a sweat. Json Genie allows full reign over your json files. Microsoft has published yet another Android app, this time from its Garage team of developers. Sprightly is a sort of hybrid between a standard presentation manager and a collage maker, specifically designed to make well-organized visual data. It might be a bit hard to find a specific use for this app, but the creation and layout tools are certainly interesting, and projects can be shared directly to Facebook or Whatsapp.

Sprightly, a Microsoft Garage project, enables you to create content for your business and personal needs. Describe your products in a catalog or share pricelists with your buyers. Send ecards to your family, friends & customers on festive occasions. Share content on digital platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp and reach out to your audience. Android Police coverage: Samsung's BBC micro:bit Android App Helps You Flash Code To The System Via Bluetooth

The Micro:bit is a tiny integrated computer that packs in a 25-dot screen, accelerometer, Bluetooth, a USB port, and a few other bells and whistles. It's intended as a sort of educational toy for students to learn programming. This app allows them to code on their phones and flash that code to a Micro:bit over Bluetooth. It's pretty neat, but the compatibility is pretty limited at the moment (even though it's not a Samsung exclusive).

The best bits

• Create games on your phone then ‘flash’ them on to your micro:bit to get playing – no wires or cables needed.

• Snap a selfie by connecting your phone or tablet, and use your micro:bit as a remote control

• Never miss your mates again – now you can code your micro:bit to wake up and tell you when you’re getting a call or text

Discover takes you to the official website where you can find code ideas from other BBC micro:bit fans. There’s loads of cool stuff to try out.

Create Code allows you to use the BBC micro:bit code editors. Choose an editor and start coding. You can also go back and edit code you’ve already created.
