A full year after its announcement at CES 2015, the ASUS ZenFone is ready to make its grand public debut on US territory. The phone, which looks like an amalgam of an Android phone and a Lumia 1020, touts some very interesting and rare, if not unique, features and it will officially launch in the US in early February for $399.

The coup de force of the ZenFone Zoom is its 13MP 3X optical zoom lens with 10 element HOYA arrangement, laser autofocus, OIS, and a dedicated camera shutter button which should result in sharp and detailed photos, even at a distance. It also has manual controls for exposure, ISO, white balance, and a dual-LED Real Tone flash for natural looking photos.

There's a lot to love about the ZenFone Zoom beyond its camera. Inside, a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3590 quad-core SoC sits next to 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage with a MicroSD slot, LTE Cat 4+, and a 3000mAh battery with some form of quick charging technology. The outside sees a 5.5" 1080p IPS display, a premium leather-like material and grip, and an anchor loop to keep it strapped to your hand. And even with the camera bump, the Zoom isn't that thick with 11.95mm at the largest point or 5mm at its thinnest.

The phone was supposed to ship in Q2 2015, but plans seem to have been delayed and it won't be until February of 2016 that we see it hit the US market. For the specs, that's a pretty decent price.

ASUS has posted the news to its website adding one more piece of information. The ZenFone Zoom will be launching February 1st exclusively on B&H. At this point, it's not clear whether the exclusivity will remain or other retailers will offer the phone later on.
