AT&T announced NumberSync a few weeks ago, and now the first wearable device with support for the feature is ready. The Gear S2, which already launched, can now work on the same line as your smartphone thanks to NumberSync. AT&T is offering the Gear S2 for $99 on a two-year contract as well.

NumberSync allows two devices to get calls and text messages on a single phone number. That means you can leave your phone at home and still be connected on your regular phone number via the watch. Using NumberSync doesn't cost anything extra itself, but you still need to pay a service fee to use the watch on AT&T's network. That's $10 to add it to an existing plan.

The Tizen-based Gear S2 works with most Android devices and costs $299.99 without subsidy. New watches will have NumberSync out of the box, but any that were bought previously will need a software update. You need to be on a Mobile Share plan to use the Gear S2 and NumberSync, so no grandfathered unlimited subscribers need apply.
