The Galaxy View is a device only Samsung would make. Not because it's a bad idea necessarily, but because it's a really niche product that no other OEMs really have a hope of pulling off. It turns out that maybe even Samsung is going to have trouble selling a huge 18.4-inch tablet with a built-in handle. After 2 weeks on virtual shelves, The Galaxy View is getting a $100 price drop. The price is now consistently $499 instead of $599 at all major retailers including Samsung, Amazon, Best Buy, B&H, and Adorama. That's a 17% discount. In case you need a refresher, the View has an 18.4-inch 1080p LCD, 2GB of RAM, a last-gen Exynos octa-core processor, and a video-centric build of Android 5.1. Oh, and a handle.Perhaps the $499 price will be more palatable to potential buyers. If you are one of the (presumably few) people who bought one at the higher price, you'll want to check with the retailer about getting a price match.Source: Amazon, B&H, Adorama, Best Buy, Samsung
