Vodafone UK announced its own Wi-Fi Calling service earlier this month, but support remains extremely limited. As of right now, the only devices listed are the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Fortunately that's about to change, though not by much. Android compatibility is coming in the form of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

Unfortunately, the carrier hasn't provided a timeframe other than sometime this autumn. Customers looking to register their interest are welcome to do so, but aside from that, it's just a matter of waiting. Once support arrives, you will be able to enable the functionality in your phone's settings.

Vodafone's Wi-Fi Calling will work wherever there's a strong enough Wi-Fi signal, despite the absence of cellular service. The person on the other end doesn't need Wi-Fi Calling to take your call. The service won't cost any extra to use as long as you have a Red bundle price plan, but minutes will still come out of your allowance. Think of this as a way to improve signal, not save money.
