Each instant messaging platform of sorts offers its own appeal. Snapchat's appears to be the ability to share moments of spontaneity that won't linger around for the rest of your life. Pictures and clips disappear after they're viewed. Unless, that is, you Replay them. This is a feature that has been around for a couple of years now, but users have been limited to one per day.

Now Snapchat is providing the option to replay things more often. However, this feature doesn't come free. Snapchatters have to buy Replays, starting at a three for 99 cents. Even then, each Snap is only eligible for one Replay.

Yes, it's a transparent attempt to monetize the service. Moving on.

Snapchat has come up with another way to spice up those bland selfies. Rather than applying a filter, tap and hold the center of your face to apply a Lense. These 3D animated effects warp the image by applying hearts over your eyes, barfing rainbows from your mouth, or turning you into a horrifying freak of nature. Phandroid has provided a look at most of the new Lenses. Note, the feature only works on newer Android devices.

This update also introduces a Trophy Case that you can access by tapping the trophy icon above your photo on the options screen. We don't know what this section of the app contains, but you can unlock things by raising your Snapchat score.

The latest version of the app, 9.15, is rolling out through the Play Store now. You can also download things manually from APK Mirror.
