Kings Kollege: Hivex
This simple little game is a hexagonal version of Reversi: tap a tile and all the ones immediately touching it will light up. Light the entire stage with the fewest taps possible. Lightning-fast stages and logical puzzles are on offer, so if you're impatient and want some brain teasers, this one's for you.
Clicking any hexagon toggles its state and that of its neighbors. Fully light all of the hexagons to complete each puzzle. Completing puzzles in fewer moves earns more stars and faster times result in higher scores.
Noodlecake's latest twitch game instructs you to avoid those saw blades that move around the level. That's it. You control your character with a cursor-style tap and drag interface, and extra coins get you new characters to dismember guide safely through the level.
Avoid the blades for as long as you can. Collect coins to unlock new characters. Touch and drag to control your character. Be careful.
Glow Monsters - Maze survival
Glow Monsters is kind of like Pac-Man, distilled into tiny bit-sized levels. The designers have thrown a few wrenches into the equation with switches that can trip up monsters and other interesting obstacles. The free game includes 100 levels on six worlds and the usual three-star level system, plus a single $2 in-app purchase to remove ads.
Eat all of the cubics, evade the monsters and survive... in Glow Maze. A great new Pac Man styled arcade game for 2015. Rotate the bridge to switch the path’s direction. Survive until you eat all the cubics in each maze. Various glow monsters with special skills will try to catch you, escape from them using the rotating bridges and give the monsters the slip.
Geometry Race is a minimal endless runner (not a racer) wherein you control a hovercraft speeding through an endless plane filled with shapes. (Again, there's no racing.) The graphics are clean and the action is fast, and this seems to be one of the few 3D over-the-shoulder runners that's presented in landscape mode. If you want something fast and twitchy, Geometry Race might fit the bill.
Race in the crazy world of geometry shapes. Aim towards the setting sun and watch out for obstacles that will try to push you off the track. This game is a result of a 30 day game challenge and is just a first step in making this title truly awesome. Please leave comments with suggestions on what you'd like to see in this game - we're reading each comment and your voice counts. We'll be adding new levels each week if not days so stay tuned for updates.
Magic River is a basic endless runner, but it seems that the folks over at Ketchapp are branching out of the publisher's super-simple 2D comfort zone. The graphics are minimal but colorful 3D, with a style that's a little bit Flappy Bird and a little bit Journey. You control a canoe (or themed boats for other characters) paddling down the river and avoiding obstacles for as long as possible.
Move through the river without hitting any obstacles. Explore different locations while drifting down the river. Collect gems to unlock awesome new characters and boats.
Paper Train: Rush
Paper Train Rush is a fairly standard lane-based endless runner, but holy crap, is it colorful. The 3D graphics of cardboard trains and tracks pop off the screen and punch you in the eyeballs. If only it was as flush with ideas as it is with hues - the only real options are cosmetic, and the only gameplay is avoiding obstacles and collecting coins for said cosmetics. Of course you can also pay real money to get them faster.
Hop into the engineer's cab of a paper train, and travel through a cardboard world where toys come alive to race along a plotting board's railway. Dodge oncoming trains, collect shiny coins, jump over dangerous obstacles and enjoy the speed of a runaway train. Test your runner skills, while visiting various railways resembling a child's toyroom. Full of colors, action and randomness, every run offers something new to see.
Tiny Empire - Epic Edition
Tiny Empire is a Crescent Moon-published game that owes more than a little to Scorched Earth. It's got the same ballistic cannon gameplay, but tuned for single-player and short stages. Blast enemies away with a mix of simple physics and upgrades. This is the paid version (which nevertheless has some rather stiff IAP for a casual game), but there's also a free version.
Launch cannonballs and blow tiny orcs into thousands of pieces in this intuitive fantasy-themed puzzle shooter. Embark on an epic medieval journey that will take you from the grasslands of the empire to the forgotten desert ruins, facing ever stronger enemies under the leadership of your beloved king.
- EXPLORE THE KINGDOM on a vast map filled with more than 80 levels.
- DEFEAT SAVAGE CREATURES such as beholders, stone golems, crow riders, and many more.
- PLAN YOUR ATTACKS carefully – each bomb works best on a different situation.
- UNLOCK NEW AREAS by getting a perfect score on all the levels.
- RECLAIM ABANDONED MINES to supply your empire with an endless stream of diamonds.
- COLLECT CANNONS AND HELMS to equip your troops with the best gear of the kingdom.
Sputnik Eyes is a sliding tile puzzle game. What it has to do with Soviet satellites, I really couldn't say, but the point is to get the correct cyclops-shape-thingy to the right spot on the level with a limited amount of paths. The graphics are fairly simple but charming in a preschool kind of way. $2 gets you 60+ puzzles, with no in-app purchases to get in the way.
Help the little Eyes to scan and explore each planet on the way. The objective is clear, the paths to reach it entwined. Use your logical thinking and help each of your robotic companions to reach its right-colored position – only then you can analyize a planet. But the positions are only reachable by a few paths..... Sputnik Eyes is a classic puzzle: entertaining but a real brainteaser. Think sharp, explore all the planets and help your robotic companions.
RPG Asdivine Dios
Kemco's latest RPG to hit western shores follows a conflict among gods, with the usual anime-inspired story ensuing. The graphics and turn-based combat are straight out of the Super NES, though you are treated to some rather nice hand-drawn character portraits and cutscenes. Character customization and battles depend on an interesting puzzle element, but there are some in-app purchases (despite the premium price) for getting through the tougher parts of the game.
Welcome to the new Asdivine and get ready as a tale about divine encounters with mankind and mankind's encounters with the divine is about to unfold... Among the many worlds the deities have created, there is one world that abounds with life known as Asdivine. But when a spate of disturbances erupts across the globe and an ever spreading murk threatens to destroy it, Izayoi, the deity of Asdivine himself, takes up his cause to save the world he created with his own hands.
Here's a good-looking mountain biking game with a focus on tricks and atmosphere. The clean graphics allow you to view the action from third person or first person perspectives, all the better to watch your player-character shatter his bones when you don't stick that hill landing. The setup is "endless," and somewhat stale - the only real objective is to collect coins to unlock tricks and gear.
Feel the rush as you ride your bike across hazardous trails avoiding obstacles while performing gravity defying tricks to reach the farthest you can. The game combines authentic mountain bike downhill action with an extreme endless runner. Earn extra coins by performing tricks and combos in huge jumps . Level up to unlock more insane tricks and upgrade your gear.
Remember those levels from Donkey Kong country where you do nothing but blast through barrels? This game is basically that experience, plus some fancy 3D graphics and an IAP setup.
The coolest game you'll play this year. An incredibly fun adventure across a floating world, where you fire yourself out of powerful cannons. Meet Bullet Boy, the courageous kid who rushes to escape a deadly tornado, while he tries to collect the missing pieces of some very mysterious, and fascinating statues. Packed with highly dynamic mechanics. Avoid birds, buildings and weird machines, tap rapidly to dodge fast-moving obstacles, aim precisely to get to the next cannon, or shoot to the sky to elude multiple obstacles altogether, and quickly get to your goal.
See Pac-Man 256 up there? The Maze is pretty similar, except that the objective is to keep going in an unwinnable maze rather than to eat everything in sight. All you have to do is move left or right to progress through the maze. Avoid the mines and try not to get stuck.
Endless maze game. You are in the middle of the maze. Where is the exit? Try to find a way out of the labyrinth. There is no bread crumbs on road like Hansel end Gretel, it is your choice where you go, but make right decision. Stay alive, avoid the obstacles and find a way. Be smart and fast. Touch and drag on the screen to move the dot. Enjoy your game, get max score.
Hit Invaders takes the rather familiar formula of Space invaders and turns it into a tapping game. Tap the pixelated ships to stop them. That's it. The faster you tap, the faster they fall, and the faster the chiptune music plays. A $2 in-app purchase removes advertising.
Waves of pixel invaders are attacking your city. To destroy them, tap the first attacking enemy. Best feature: 8-bit music will tell you how fast you are. Beware: This game may muscle up your thumbs
I Slay Zombies - VR Shooter
It was only a matter of time before the zombies invaded the VR headset genre. To be fair, this one seems to have a little more thought put into it than most of the zombie games on the Play Store. You can play in a normal mode or with a Cardboard headset (or similar), and multiple play modes keep things interesting.
The Z-virus is real and the zombie apocalypse is upon us. I SLAY ZOMBIES – VR SHOOTER places you in the middle of the fight against the undead. In this exciting virtual reality (VR) horror shooter you will have to use your arsenal of deadly weapons to the fullest in order to survive. Don’t let them eat your brain and always follow rule #1: The best zombie is a dead zombie.
Another year, another batch of soccer games. And oddly, even more soccer manager games. This one is Square-Enix's take on the genre, and it seems to be a simpler and more speed-focused version of the standard Championship Manager. Early reviewers say it's stuffed with ads and in-app purchases, and there seem to be quite a lot of technical issues with the initial release as well.
Do you have what it takes to lead a team to glory? Can you beat your friends and rivals across the globe as you compete in the most exciting and authentic football manager game available? Championship Manager: All-Stars is the multiplayer version of the world famous Football Management game that gives you the chance to show off your management skills against real life players worldwide.
LumiKids Backyard by Lumosity
Here's another LumiKids app, filled with simple scenes and logic puzzles for kids. It's fairly unobjectionable in just about every way, and it includes reports and tips specifically meant for parents. It's free with no in-app purchases.

LumiKids Backyard is the third app in the new early childhood product line, LumiKids by Lumosity. The Quiet Collection
This $5 collection combines the minimalist adventure games from Nostatic Software: Quiet Please, Candy Please, Quiet Christmas, and Vacation Vexation. It saves you a buck versus buying them separately, but you also get the undeniable pleasure of having a bunch of games combined under a single app tray icon. It's worth noting that all of them are available as ad-supported free versions as well.
The Quiet Collection - classic, lighthearted adventure game fun. After an annoying day at school, you just want some peace and quiet. But everything at home is so noisy. Dad is channel surfing, Mom is on the phone and your pesky kid brother won't go to bed.
