There have been a few rumors of a Samsung premium tablet refresh in recent weeks, and now it's official. The Galaxy Tab S2 is coming this August in 8.0-inch and 9.7-inch varieties. They've got more of a Galaxy S6 design vibe, and the screens are 4:3, just like the mid-range Galaxy Tab A. And of course, there are physical nav buttons on these tablets, because Samsung.

Let's get all the specs out of the way first.

The screens are likely to be fantastic on these devices. The 2048×1536 resolution is the same as the Nexus 9 and iPad, but it's Super AMOLED. For the old-school crowd, there's a MicroSD card slot to supplement the built-in storage. The design seems to be solidly high-end at just 5.6mm thick and 392g for the heaviest version. The Nexus 9, by comparison, is 425g.

The tablets will come in both WiFi and LTE variants, so you can expect some carriers to jump on-board with them at some point. We only know that these devices will start hitting shelves in August, and the price is a mystery. It's going to be a lot, probably. Samsung is riding high right now, and these are the best tablets the company makes.
