On July 15th, Amazon is holding a big Prime Day sale that it says will offer more deals than Black Friday. You will also get to do without the lines, risk of being trampled, and having to get up from the Thanksgiving dinner table a mere five minutes after sitting down.

The only catch is that you have to be an Amazon Prime member. That luxury costs a recurring $100 fee. But thanks to today's Goldbox Deal of the Day, you can get a full year of Prime along with an Amazon Fire Phone for $160. That's $20 less than the already low contract-free price it's going for these days.

Is the Fire Phone worth the extra $60? That's up to you. The device was meant for AT&T's network. It doesn't support all of T-Mobile's bands, but it will still work. The hardware is pretty solid (4.7-inch 720p display, Snapdragon 800, processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, 13MP camera, 2400mAh battery), but the customized software based on Android KitKat might be a bummer.

Granted, you could just use this as a developer device. Or you could sell it. If you're going with that last one, let me know what you're going to say to convince someone to take you up on the offer. Clearly offloading these things isn't as easy as it seems.
