Welcome to the latest entry in our Bonus Round series, wherein we tell you all about the new Android games of the day that we couldn't get to during our regular news rounds. Consider this a quick update for the dedicated gamers who can't wait for our bi-weekly roundups, and don't want to wade through a whole day's worth of news just to get their pixelated fix. Today we've got a black-and white puzzle/adventure game, a directional puzzler with community levels, a twitchy minimal game, a horror title with "escape the room" elements, and a shooter with lots of boats. Without further ado:

Missing Translation

This game is an odd mix of non-verbal storytelling and mobile puzzles. You play as a human trapped on a bizarre planet who must communicate in brain-teasers in order to escape. The black and white design is more than just a gimmick: it also lends an interesting twist to the (admittedly over-used) pixel art style. The game includes more than 100 puzzles scattered across its adventure-style overworld, and you'll have to decipher an "alien" language to beat it.

Missing Translation is pixel art game with a very characteristic style, both for its bizarre characters (aliens) and its careful design in black and white. Set in a western post-modern world, we can choose between 2 characters (male and female) to solve over 100 puzzles that catch us in the game for hours. The various puzzles that are featured in Missing Translation will make us use our wits if we are to discover the end of this curious adventure.

Socioball

Socioball sounds like some kind of fancy reception for sociopaths. In fact it's a directional puzzle game that will test your ability to manage space and logic. It's sort of a mellow version of games like Chu Chu Rocket. The graphics are simple but charming, and the 60 puzzles in the free game (with no in-app purchases!) make this one a no-brainer for puzzle fans. New puzzles are introduced on a regular basis thanks to the built-in stage editor and upload feature.

PLAY over 60+ mind bending puzzles where you must get the ball from start to finish by placing missing tiles in correct places. CREATE your own puzzles with our built-in level editor and test them out. TWEET your puzzles to the world, from inside the game. Everyone who owns the game can now see and play them. You can also tag your friends. Get an ever-increasing supply of puzzles from twitter. Oh, and don't worry we won't tweet high-scores or invites to your friends.

Ding Dong

Ding Dong is a neon-soaked twitch game that has nothing to do with Brother John. The only goal is to tap and switch the ball between the poles, avoiding the minimalist obstacles and grabbing time extensions. Go as far as you can without hitting a crossing block or running out of time. It includes Google Play Games support for achievements and leaderboards, and there's also a premium version available.

DING DONG is a minimalist, challenging, and fast paced one touch arcade game. Touch the screen to move, avoid all the obstacles, and keep moving or explode. An incredibly addictive and fast score chaser.

● Awesome Power ups

● Endless (infinite) game play

● Google Play Games Achievements.

● Optimized for a wide variety of phones and tablets.

House of Grudge

Room escape games aren't my cup of tea, and neither are jump scares, but if you like both you should take a gander at House of Grudge. You wouldn't call it original, but this puzzle/room escape title features some quality 2D environments and the proper atmosphere for horror fans thanks to solid sound design. For just a dollar with no in-app purchases, you could do a lot worse if you're looking to spook yourself.

Coming in 2015, a horror game that will grab your attention and not let go. Solve tricks and riddles to unravel the mystery of the secret room. Secrets hidden in every room will lead you to the truth. Are you ready to face your fears and take up the challenge? In a quiet village just outside the city... A baby was born to a happy, young couple. And the seemingly everlasting happiness they felt was shattered into pieces by a tragic event...

Ramboat: Hero Shooting Game

SHOOT ALL THE THINGS... on a boat. You're on the boat, you shouldn't shoot it - if you do, you'll rapidly be minus one boat. This unapologetic arcade shooter simplifies elements of games like Contra and Metal Slug into pure mindless action, combined with the usual upgrades for your weapons and boa (or as it may be, marine mammal). It's too bad that the designers had to drag the experience down with the usual IAP grind and quasi-gambling mini-game.

Join Mambo and his crew in this action packed, arcade style, racing shooter and poker adventure. Jump, dive, and dodge obstacles and enemy fire while racing through a war zone on incredible vehicles and armed with sick weapons. In this shooter arcade game, experience all the action and adventure of fighting paratroopers, rocket launchers, and enemy subs with powerful weapons like the homing missile, machine gun, and flamethrower.
