The popular Wear Mini Launcher began rolling out a major update today, going from v3.0.3 to v4.0.0. The changes may not be as large as you would expect for an increase in version number, but they are welcome nonetheless. The main additions are the ability to reorder the quick settings, a "flashlight" app available in the drawer, music controls in the menu, and the ability to remotely lock your phone.

With the vastly improved navigation in Android Wear 5.1, some users may not feel like they need Mini Launcher as much. Of course, this is why its developer is pushing out updates like this, as it helps keep things useful beyond what stock Wear offers. I especially like the quick settings shade, which is far more fully featured than the one that shipped with 5.1 (or the versions before it, for that matter).

It is currently in a staged rollout in case any bugs pop up. If you want to test the waters, though, just jump on over to APK Mirror.

Download

The app is signed (and in this case uploaded) by the developer. The cryptographic signature guarantees that the file is safe to install and was not tampered with in any way. Download it to your device, allow unknown sources in your security settings, and open the .apk file to install it.
