The Nexus 9 is Google's new flagship Lollipop tablet, but what if you don't like the software Google put on the device? Well, you can change it. That's how Nexus devices work. Now you can finally install CyanogenMod 12 on the N9. Just head over to the CM downloads page and get ready to flash.

Because we're talking about CM12, this is Lollipop, so you won't be giving up any features by flashing this. The first official build is a nightly, meaning it will be updated frequently on the way to a milestone build, and bugs are to be expected.

Flashing CyanogenMod (or any ROM) requires an unlocked bootloader and custom recovery, but that's no problem on a Nexus device. If something goes sideways, you can almost always just flash a full system image to get things working again.
