The venerable animated GIF remains a staple of the internet even after all these years because of its unparalleled versatility. If it has a screen, it can probably play a GIF. Such is the case with Android Wear, and Little TV turns those GIFs into watch faces. This is either fun or really ridiculous. I haven't decided which yet, but it's definitely one or the other.

Little TV is powered by Giphy, which is one of the internet's foremost repositories of animated GIFs. It's like Tumblr without all the angsty words in between GIFs. You get an app and a watch face on Android Wear, both of which have a set of hashtags from which you may choose. You've got things like #scifi, #nature, #trending, and more. You can also favorite GIFs from the app and have them show up on a special favorites-only channel. The watch face doesn't have any options beyond the GIFs—it's just a simple digital clock. The phone-side app has a few settings for downloading new GIFs and such.

This isn't the first app to put GIFs on the watch (GIF Watch Face exists), but this one seems more efficient. So, do you need animated GIFs on your wrist all the time? Probably not, but you can totally do it now. I'm not going to tell you whether or not you should, though.
