The Civilization games on PC have consistently been the gold standard for 4X strategy, and the abbreviated Revolution versions for iOS have been widely praised for successfully distilling that formula for a mobile device. We didn't see the first Civ Rev on Android, but the sequel has just launched in the Play Store. Civilization Revolution 2 can be yours right now, but it comes with a hefty price tag.

Civilization Revolution 2 is a turn-based strategy game that offers you the opportunity to build an empire outdoes all the others. You get to choose from a variety of historical leaders like Lincoln, Bismarck, Lenin, and more. Sadly, I don't see Gandhi anywhere, who has been a Civilization staple for many years on the desktop side. By playing to your empire's strengths, you can found new cities, build up an army, and develop new technologies that allow you to win in different ways.

The gameplay has been sped up in Civ Rev 2 compared to the full Civilization games, and the graphics are more cartoony. This is a much more complex game than most of what you'll find in the Play Store, and the price takes that into account. 2K Games is asking $14,99 for Civilization Revolution 2, but there are no in-app purchases.
