At the end of July we reviewed SHIELD Tablet (and loved it), but the big question on a lot of would-be users' minds was "when will the LTE model be coming out?" Well, we finally have our answer: soon. September 30th-soon, to be exact.

As you may remember, the LTE model is essentially identical to the Wi-Fi model, with the addition of LTE connectivity and increased storage – up to 32GB from 16GB. The SD card slot is still present as well, for all of you digital hoarders out there.

As far as LTE connectivity is concerned, SHIELD Tablet is certified on AT&T here in the States, but it's unlocked and should work on most GSM LTE networks (like T-Mobile). It's compatible with LTE Bands 2, 4, 5, 7, 17 and HSPA+ Bands 1, 2, 4, and 5 in North America, and LTE Bands 1, 3, 7, 20, and HSPA+ Bands 1, 2, 5, and 8 outside of North America. That should cover most people. It's also worth noting that AT&T customers who don't mind committing to two years of service can get a $100 bill credit when activating SHIELD Tablet.

Note: Band 1 is only supported in certain regions outside of North America.

In typical NVIDIA style, and few killer new games are also hitting Android alongside STLTE: Bombsquad, a local multiplayer title; Beach Buggy Racing, another local multiplayer game (and the successor to Beach Buggy Blitz); and Broadsword, an MMORPG. All three games should be available now in the Play Store.

The LTE SHIELD Tablet will be available for pre-order beginning today, with public availability at the end of the month.
