There were some delays, but HTC's last-generation flagship device is getting the bump up to Android 4.2.2. Yes, AT&T has approved the OTA for its version of the HTC One X. Sadly, this will be the last new version of Android it sees. It's better than nothing, though.

The news was broken by HTC's executive director of product management in the US, who said the update is targeted for the 29th. Of course, that leaves some wiggle room in case AT&T gets cold feet. We didn't get details on this update, except that it's Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5. However, it's probably going to be very similar to the One X+ update announced last week, which included:

  • Android Version: 4.2.2
  • HTC Sense: 5.0
  • NFC Fixes
  • AT&T Address Book Fixes

The international version of the device got its update a while back, that included a larger list of tweaks. We'll know for sure when AT&T posts the official details as the update rolls out.
