Are you a designer? Or really good with Adobe Illustrator? Or maybe just really motivated by the chance of winning the awesome Iconia A510 tablet (we reviewed it, it is awesome)? Then have we got a contest for you.

Update: The winning design along with the runners-up was announced here.

But first, the prize, and a short message from our sponsors.

NVIDIA Tegra Zone

Tegra-optimized games often offer a better experience over their non-Tegra siblings, and NVIDIA has put together a nice way to find them all in one place: enter the Tegra Zone.

The Tegra Zone is a site and companion app that makes it easy to find Tegra-optimized games and apps for your device. This is where you'll find The Dark Meadow, along with other favorites like Shadowgun THD and Siegecraft THD. Make no mistake, though - this isn't another appstore, simply a place to find awesome Tegra-optimized content.

The Prize

It's an Acer Iconia A510, which our own Cameron Summerson believes is the best Android tablet currently available. So, you know it's amazing already, but just how amazing is it?

Specs:

  • Display: 10.1-inch 1280x800 TFT
  • CPU: 1.3GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor
  • RAM: 1GB DDR2
  • Storage: 32GB built-in storage, microSD card slot
  • Cameras: 5MP rear shooter, 1MP front facing camera
  • Ports: microHDMI and microUSB
  • Battery: 9800mAh
  • OS: Android 4.0.3 with "Acer Ring"
  • Dimensions: 6.9" x 10.1" x 0.43" (HxWxD), 1.54 lbs.

That amazing. The winner (1) of the contest will receive this 10.1" beast - but now you've got to know, what does it take to be the winner? I'm glad you asked.

How To Win

This contest is very open-ended - we want you, you aficionados of aesthetics, you connoisseurs of color palettes, to design a new logo for Android Police. Here are the style guidelines:

  • It needs to look good in multiple settings. Whether it be as a small (or large) icon, a banner, or a t-shirt graphic - we need it to be really versatile.
  • It needs to, obviously, contain the Android Police name, whether as "Android Police" or "AP" (or both, depending on setting).
  • Please stay away from anything too "police"-oriented, we want something that's pleasing stylistically above all else, not something "gimmicky." Be creative.
  • Multiple variations for your submissions would be appreciated (different color schemes, backgrounds, layouts, etc.)

Now, here are some technical requirements:

  • If your design is selected as the winner, you must provide the original PSD file (or whatever format it's in) to receive your prize.
  • Your design must not infringe on the intellectual property rights of any company, person, or other entity (we will be checking).
  • THIS INCLUDES THE ANDROID "BUGDROID" CHARACTER - PLEASE DO NOT USE IT.

To submit your entry, leave a comment with an imgur (or other image-hosting service) URL to your submission. Be sure your DISQUS contact information is correct! You may submit as many entries as you like, but preferably do so by replying to your own comment thread.

Finally, as a condition of submitting your entry, you agree to irrevocably and permanently assign, transfer, and release all rights to your submission to Android Police.

Being selected as the winner does not guarantee that your submission will be used.
