While the world waits with bated breath for whatever tablet Samsung or ASUS comes out with next, Archos is busy gobbling up the budget tablet market. Woot's here to help with a deal on the Archos 101 G9 Turbo Extra Super Ultimate XT MX S. The 8GB model, sporting a speedy 1.5Ghz dual-core processor is on sale right now for $279.

We can't seem to find the Archos 101 G9 Turbo Two-Disc Limited Edition in an 8GB model from any US retailer. Archos' own website, however, lists the 8GB Turbo model for £259.99, which comes out to around $410 USD. We might expect the tablet to retail for somewhat lower in USD (like its 16GB model counterpart). Still, for less than three Benjamins you can get your hands on these specs:

  • 1.5GHz OMAP4 smart multi-core processor
  • 10.1 inch (16:10) capacitive touchscreen
  • Android Honeycomb 3.2 with Google Mobile Apps Suite including Android Market
  • ARCHOS made multimedia apps for extra format and codec support including H.264 HP support
  • WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and upgradable to 3G via the ARCHOS G9 3G Stick (sold separately)
  • Mini HDMI

No matter where this tablet fits into Archos' labyrinth of model numbers and price points, it's still a pretty decent tablet in the sub-$300 price range. If you're looking to get into the cheap Android tablet market—and can't wait for that $250 ASUS quad-core tablet teased at CES—check out the Archos 101 G9 Turbo 3D Plus More Happy Special Fun Time on Woot.
