We love giving stuff away here at AP, and today we have ten cases from Incipio to hand out to ten lucky readers. Incipio offers five main types of case: Dermashot, feather, Silicrylic, NGP, and Edge (they also make a case called "Step" for the Droid X2). I've recently spent some hands-on time with the Dermashot, feather, and Silicrylic models, so before we get into the giveaway, we're going to take a closer look at those. Before that, though, I want to give a big shoutout to Incipio for sponsoring the giveaway. Thanks, guys!

Dermashot

The Dermashot is a soft silicon case made to protect your device from short falls and scratches. According to Incipio, the Dermashot has a "special anti-static coating" that prevents it from becoming sticky, as well as reducing the amount of dust/lint that sticks to it. In all reality, though, this is a dust and lint magnet. It may not be as bad as some other silicone cases, but you can definitely see the amount of lint that it collects -- and these picture were taken about 20 minutes after I cleaned it off.

Still, It has a nice feel to it, adds grip to the device, and still allows access to all buttons and auxiliary ports. It's soft, protective, well made, and it looks good.

Applicable Phone Models

Since Incipio doesn't make each case for every phone model, here is a list of phones that they make the Dermashot for. It's mostly for older devices, and seems to have been replaced by the more modern NGP case:

  • Casio G'zOne (because this little guy isn't rugged enough, right?)
  • myTouch 3G
  • Nexus One
  • HTC Droid Eris
  • HTC Hero
  • HTC Droid Incredible
  • Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

feather

This one is probably my favorite of the three. The feather case is an extremely thin and lightweight shell that covers the back and sides of the phone. It's made of one solid polycarbonate piece, and, while it won't do much to protect your device against drops, it will keep the exterior from getting all scratched up. If you want a case that adds virtually zero bulk to your device, while still leaving access to all of the appropriate ports, then this is the case for you.

Applicable Phone Models

The feather is offered across the widest variety of devices, so there's a good chance that they make it for your phone:

  • Dell Venue
  • myTouch 3G
  • Nexus One
  • Nexus S
  • HTC Droid Eris
  • HTC EVO 4G
  • HTC Incredible
  • HTC Incredible 2
  • HTC Inspire 4G
  • LG Genesis
  • Motorola Atrix
  • Motorola Droid Bionic
  • Motorola Droid (OG)
  • Samsung Captivate
  • Samsung Fascinate
  • Samsung Droid Charge
  • Samsung Infuse 4G
  • Samsung Nexus S
  • Samsung Vibrant

Silicrylic

This is the toughest of all the Incipio cases, as it offers two layers of protection: a thin silicone layer surrounded by a much harder polycarbonate layer. Basically, it's the Dermashot wrapped in the feather.

The silicone layer is really thin (and attracts the same amount of dust and lint as the Dermashot), but is intended to be a shock absorber, while the hard, outer layer is really the brawn of the operation. It's easy to get on, feels good, and provides access to all required buttons and ports. The finish is smooth and it really feels great in the hand. Really, really solid.

Applicable Phone Models

  • Google Nexus One
  • HTC Incredible
  • HTC Incredible 2
  • HTC Thunderbolt
  • Motorola Atrix 4G
  • Motorola Droid Bionic
  • Motorola Droid X
  • Motorola Droid X2
  • Samsung Fascinate
  • Samsung Droid Charge
  • Samsung Infuse 4G

Edge and NGP

I didn't get review units of either of these, but wanted to make their availability known both for the sake of the giveaway.

Edge

The Edge case is a sliding two-part hardshell case that looks to protect the device from scratches and minor falls, and is available on a select few devices:

  • HTC EVO 4G
  • HTC Thunderbolt
  • Samsung Captivate
  • Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

NGP

From what I can tell, the NGP is the evolution of the Dermashot case, as it offers a lot of the same features, but is made from a "Next Generation Polymer" (hence the NGP moniker). It also seems to be a bit more sturdy than the Dermashot, as it's described as semi-rigid on Incipio's site.

This case is available on the more modern batch of phones:

  • HTC EVO 3D
  • HTC Hero S
  • HTC Sensation
  • HTC Status
  • LG G2x
  • LG Optimus Black
  • LG Thrill 4G / Optimus 3D
  • Motorola Photon 4G
  • Samsung Galaxy S II
