A 6.8" phone? Madness, you say? Not according to Hisense - the company has unveiled one of the largest smartphones to date at CES in Las Vegas this week, dubbed the X1. It's 6.8" full HD LCD panel is certainly something to behold, and may manage to put the phone outside of the "pocketable" category phones like the Xperia Z Ultra just barely manage to eek into. Of course, it's no FonePad, so it may also be the perfect size for a few niche buyers out there, though I can't really see much mainstream appeal here, at least in western markets.

One of the cooler things that went a bit unnoticed at this years CES was, without a doubt, Sony's all-new XSP-N1BT automotive stereo head unit. No, it's not exactly the most exciting name in the world, but Android enthusiasts may be snatching up this double DIN unit with great enthusiasm when it arrives in May for $250 for one reason: in consort with Sony's control app, it turns your Android smartphone into a touchscreen control unit for your car stereo.

We just got back from a meeting at ASUS's CES suite, and we had a chance to go hands-on with the full portfolio of the company's new Android products (apart from Padfone X, which sadly sat walled off in a glass case). Of great interest to some of you, no doubt, are the company's new ZenFone handsets. Johnny Shih, ASUS's enthusiastic chairman, announced the ZenFone 4, 5, and 6, would be priced at $99, $149, and $199, respectively.

After yesterday's Huawei press event, I had an opportunity to briefly go hands-on with the company's newest super-sized phone, the Ascend Mate 2 4G. The original Ascend Mate also made its debut at CES, and this newest iteration really doesn't break the mold its predecessor set.

The new Mate 2 does boast a smaller size overall than last year's model, giving it a screen to bezel ratio that Huawei claims is the industry's best among large phones.

Noted YouTube guy and occasional Android Police guest, MKBHD got his hands on an LG G Flex from South Korea and as is his custom, has made a video about it. If you've been wondering about that self-healing back, this video will clear some things up for you.

LG went to great pains to show off the scratch-resistant back material in a recent video, and it was pretty impressive. As MKBHD points out, though, that was shot under ideal conditions.

While Sprint's tri-band LTE network is far from a secret, the company's going on an all-out marketing offensive promoting the technology, which it's now given a name: Sprint Spark. Capitalizing on the unique capabilities of its newly-purchased Clearwire spectrum, Sprint is set to roll out what will likely be the US's largest LTE network in terms of spectrum usage over the coming years. That's primarily because Sprint's Clearwire acquisition granted it a block of wireless spectrum from 2500-2600MHz, the single largest contiguous frequency lease in use by any mobile data provider in the United States.

Fans of classic beat-em-ups, it's time to get excited. while it's true that there are more than a few entries in this genre available on the Play Store already, almost all of them owe at least some inspiration to the great Double Dragon of arcade fame. DotEmu, no slouch when it comes to breathing new life into classics, is bringing all three of the original games to the Play Store sometime in the near future.

Hey! My name is Marques Brownlee and I'm a pretty heavy Galaxy Note 3 user. Some of you may already know me from the MKBHD YouTube Channel. To others, I'm a new face to AndroidPolice. Either way, Artem and I rounded up a list of 10 of the most useful tips and tricks for Samsung's massive new smartphone flagship. So in no particular order, other than for the convenience of the video, here they are.

A crystal clear 7-minute video of the Nexus 5 (I think we can accept that's going to be the name at this point) was just leaked on the web. It's an older build than the one leaked by TuttoAndroid yesterday, but look - it's the Nexus 5 hardware in the clearest shots we've seen yet! smartphones.sfr.fr appears all over it, so the full credit for this leak goes out to them.
