YouTube Kids 1.95.2 allows parents to block channels or specific videos [APK Download]

Google's YouTube Kids application launched just under two years ago, as an attempt to make YouTube a bit more children-friendly. The app has been somewhat successful, with a few bumps along the way. Now Google is introducing a feature that frankly should have been there from day one - the ability to block channels and videos.

[Deal Alert] Deus Ex GO is 80% off in many countries, $0.99 in the US

The GO series of games have, by all accounts, been a big success for Square Enix. We at Android Police love both Hitman GO and Lara Croft GO, and Deus Ex GO is no different - it's great. Even more than the thousands who have already bought it can enjoy it now, as it's down 80% to 0.99 (or the equivalent) for a limited time. This goes for many countries, and may even be worldwide, but we cannot verify that. Let us know in the comments what the price is in your country.

Pulse by Klinker Apps is a new SMS app that brings Pushbullet-like sync and reply for messages across devices

To say that there are a lot of SMS clients on Android would be an understatement. Yet most people tend to stick to the default one that came with their phones and we know that a lot of those lack any useful or cool features. The name of Klinker should be familiar to some, since they gave us Talon for Twitter, Sliding Messaging, and EvolveSMS. Even though it's just Luke now, that doesn't mean that the neat apps have stopped. You may recall that back in September, Klinker released a beta for a new messaging app (then called "Messenger"). That app officially released today under the name of Pulse, and it's pretty awesome.

'Quick, Draw!' is like Draw Something, but with Google's artificial intelligence network

Google has published numerous experiments with its cloud AI technologies, but 'Quick, Draw' is perhaps the most fun one yet. Using the same technology that interprets written symbols in Google Translate, the game attempts to guess what you are drawing. When you start, you are prompted to draw a specific thing, and the game continues making guesses until it wins or time runs out.

Steam multiplayer favorite Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes comes to Daydream VR

Remember that scene from every action movie ever, where the headstrong but academically challenged hero has to be walked through an on-the-job lesson in bomb defusal by the specialist on the other end of the radio/phone/hyperspace ansible connection? Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is basically that experience, set up for two players (the on-the-job hero and remote specialist), and designed to create the maximum amount of tension possible. It debuted on Steam last year, but now it's available on the Play Store for early Daydream VR users.

JerryRigEverything tests the bezel-less Xiaomi Mi MIX's durability, walks away impressed

The Xiaomi Mi MIX is a phone many have been dreaming of; it manages to cram a 6.4" display into a footprint barely larger than the 5.5" Pixel XL's or iPhone 7 Plus's. That's definitely impressive, but what about the strength of such a phone? Given Xiaomi's poor track record against the wrath of Zack from JerryRigEverything and the minimal bezels surrounding the screen, you'd be entirely forgiven for thinking the Mi MIX is a weak device. However, you'd also be quite wrong.

OnePlus makes the long-rumored OnePlus 3T official with a Snapdragon 821, larger battery, and a higher starting price

OnePlus is all about having the latest and greatest internals without paying a full flagship price. The OnePlus 3 came out a few months ago with a Snapdragon 820, but now there's a Snapdragon 821 in some phones like the Pixel. That just won't do, so OnePlus is releasing a whole new variant of the phone called the OnePlus 3T.

Google announces RAISR, a method of upscaling images with machine learning

You probably know as well as I do that the internet is littered with low-resolution images, either a limitation of a device's camera or purposely-downgraded for faster loading on slow connections. Unfortunately, enlarging an image many times over while still preserving detail is something only possible in episodes of CSI. But thanks to the magic of machine learning, Google has been developing a solution - RAISR, short for Rapid and Accurate Image Super-Resolution.
