As a fan of first Launcher Pro Plus, then ADW EX, and now GO Launcher EX (which is absolutely free, by the way), I wanted to show you guys a recent addition to the latter that made it stand out from the rest of the pack even more than it already does. Lately, LPP hasn't given me any reasons to continue using it whatsoever - the app seems to have been abandoned by Fede, and ADW EX, while a very worthy opponent, also fell victim to GO team's fine offering.
Last night, I sent out a message from our social accounts praising the Epic 4G Touch's boot times. They amazed me as soon as I turned this Galaxy S II Sprint variant for the first time last Friday and haven't ceased to amaze me ever since. I have loaded up all the same apps and then some compared to any of my other phones, and still - the Epic 4G Touch blazes by the competition like no other device I've seen.
In addition to replacing your wallet, it looks like your Android device may eventually replace your key ring as well. Yale Locks and Hardware showed off their Real Living line of motorized locks this year at CEDIA Expo, promising that your NFC-enabled phone will soon be able to open your front door digitally.
The new line of locks is also compatible with Zigbee and Z-Wave home automation systems and offers support for Assa Abloy's existing Mobile Keys system which allows users to securely store all their digital keys on their phone.
After getting the Samsung Epic 4G Touch (that's Sprint's Galaxy S II) on launch day, I had to quite conveniently leave on a planned trip to the wine country half-way between San Francisco and Los Angeles. During this trip, I took this sample video in 720p HD resolution to test the Epic 4G Touch's camera performance I've heard so many great things about from everyone outside the U.S. Considering our review of the E4GT is lacking a video test, I thought this post would be the perfect follow-up.
Infinite Dreams, the creators of such hits as Sky Force and Shoot The Birds, are famous for high quality and absolutely stunning graphics in their games. Their upcoming title, Jelly Defense, is no exception. Today, we have a sneak peak at the first official trailer of this newcomer to the Tower Defense genre with a few new twists (or should I say "twisters"?).
The game, featuring 20+ missions, 8 unique power-ups, and 10 tower types, will be available in the Android Market September 29th.
I've had the BIONIC just about 24 hours now, and that's enough time to draw a few, basic conclusions about the phone. It's not sufficient for a full review, obviously, but if you're itching to know more about how using the BIONIC is from an Android addict's perspective, you might want to check out my first impressions video.
Basically, I discuss the phone's hand feel, display, performance, and a few other less noteworthy items.
A press release from Sprint late last month confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy SII (labelled as the Epic 4G Touch) would be coming to US markets by September 16th. More recently, online mobile retailer Wirefly launched their pre-orders page for the Epic 4G Touch, offering $50 off of Sprint's standard contract-subsidised price. In addition to their awesome discount, Wirefly also managed to get their hands on the Epic 4G Touch and just a few hours ago, part 1 of a video review of the device appeared on their YouTube account.
When you stop and think about it, an app that could capture what is happening on your phone's screen in high quality mp4 format would be pretty useful. With such an app you could show off a neat new live wallpaper, make an easy to follow tutorial, or do a solid video review of an app - all without having to use a dedicated camera. Wouldn't it be sweet if such a thing existed?
Just last week we reported that a HP TouchPad running Android 2.2 was being sold on eBay for $700. The claim seemed a little dubious, especially considering the inflated price tag, but today news just broke that CM7 has finally made its way onto the HP TouchPad. The news comes from Rootzwiki, who included a video and a letter from the CM Team related to the project and its recent progress.
