The new line is largely populated by Android devices aimed at budget-conscious users, but those looking for higher-end devices will have plenty of options as well.</p><h2>Motorola Atrix 2</h2><p>First up is the Motorola Atrix 2. Following up on the original Atrix, it's compatible with a special 'Lapdock' to increase productivity. In keeping with the Atrix name, the phone is packing some rather nice specs under its sleek frame:</p><ul><li>UMTS 850/1900/2100</li><li>GSM 850/900/1800/1900</li><li>4G HSPA+ 21 Mbps (Category 14)</li><li>1 GHz dual-core processor</li><li>Internal memory: 8 GB ROM, 1 GB RAM, 2 GB microSD™ card (expandable to 32GB)</li><li>Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)</li><li>4.3-inch qHD screen 960x540TFT, with more than&#160; 500,000 pixels for sharper, clearer display</li><li>8 MP camera and LED flash</li><li>Front-facing camera</li><li>1080p HD video capture, 30 frames per second playback</li><li>On Device Encryption (ODE) and Enhanced Exchange ActiveSync® (EAS)</li><li>IPsec VPN</li><li>Lapdock 100 Accessory</li></ul><p

align="left">Samsung's DoubleTime is no doubt a lower-end Android phone, putting an emphasis on its compact, portable design and full flip keyboard, and running Android 2.2 (which seems a bit odd considering the impending release of Ice Cream Sandwich, which will make Froyo 2 steps behind current technology).<div

CM usually stays ahead of the curve and is likely to support your phone well after manufacturers and carriers stop showing any interest.</p><p>Therefore, ZTE Blade/Orange San Francisco owners should be feeling quite ecstatic right now, as the world's largest ROM community announced its official support of this device (see Cyanogen's commit <a

In recent months, Android has seen an explosion of devices coming from lesser-known Asian manufacturers, with one of the main selling points being price. The manufacturers realized that with Android they had a readily and freely accessible operating system, a large market of potential customers, and all they had to do was put together a cheap device to capitalize on Android's continued growth. Unfortunately, these devices often cut corners where things mattered the most - poor displays, resistive touchscreens, bad build quality and a litany of other crimes against the gods of consumer electronics.<div

Saddled with Éclair at birth, the dudes over at <a
href="http://android.modaco.com/category/453/zte-blade-blade-modaco-com/">MoDaCo's ZTE Blade section</a> have given their phones a new lease of life with a Froyo port from the domestic Chinese model to their beloved <a
href="http://shop.orange.co.uk/mobile-phones/San-Francisco-from-Orange-in-grey#device-spec">Orange San Francisco</a>.</p><p>The ROM is very much in the Alpha stage right now, but even so it is very exciting news for those of you who <em>have</em> heard of the Blade. For those of you scratching your heads in bewilderment, stay tuned - our ZTE Blade review will be up early next week.<div
