[Deal Alert] Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8" for $239.99 and 9.7" for $279.99

When I was looking for a replacement for my Nexus 7 (2013) a couple of months ago, I did my due diligence in research and settled on the Galaxy Tab S2 8". I wanted a tablet I could carry around while walking (I edit AP articles like this, so nothing over 8.5"), with a great screen, Android Nougat (by default or updatable to it), and a decent processor, RAM, and storage. The Tab S2 8" filled all those boxes and I ended up paying about $300 for it. Now you can get it for $239.99. I wish I could go back and wait, my Nexus 7 was still working, dammit Rita!

[Deal Alert] Get $30 off Samsung's Gear Sport and Gear Fit2 Pro smartwatches

Samsung's latest wearables lineup has barely been on sale five minutes, but we're already seeing some good deals on them. The Gear Sport and Gear Fit2 Pro, both of which were only launched last month, can be had for $30 off the MSRP at the moment, from various retailers.

The Gear Sport was just reviewed by Ryan, and he was pretty impressed with it. He thought the experience was as close as he's seen to a compelling smartwatch for average users, with the high price point of £300 being one of the only negatives he could find with it.

[Blowgate?] Galaxy S8 and Note8 also have muted microphones that can be fixed by blowing into USB/mic area

Lately, some of you have been expressing your displeasure about the amount of Pixel 2-related issues we've been reporting on. These issues have been brought to our attention due to the sheer amount of enthusiasts who purchase and use these phones. But make no mistake about it - while the Pixel 2 and 2 XL have been having some issues that shouldn't be present on phones of this caliber, other phones have similar(ly hilarious) issues. Case in point: two of Samsung's newest flagship phones are having the same muted microphone issue that can also be solved with a Nintendo-style blow.

The 'Deepsea Blue' Galaxy Note 8 is coming to the US on November 16

The Galaxy Note 8 is a pretty phone, but those of us in the US were stuck picking between the "Midnight Black" and "Orchid Gray" versions. The true looker in Samsung's lineup was the "Deepsea Blue" color variant, which was only sold in other markets. That changes today with news that Samsung is bringing this color to the US. It won't be available everywhere, though.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active is officially coming to T-Mobile and Sprint

The Galaxy S8 was launched simultaneously on all carriers earlier this year, but AT&T had a few months of exclusivity on the S8 Active. There have been rumors the Active variant would come to other carriers, and now that's official. The Galaxy S8 Active will be on Sprint and T-Mobile later this month.

Samsung's latest ad makes direct jabs at multiple generations of the iPhone, and it's pretty funny

Samsung seems to be angling towards a different type of ad campaign: one that makes fun of competitors' devices. We first saw this (indirectly) with Samsung's 'Screen Reviews' commercial, but this latest 'Growing Up' takes the roasts to a whole other level. Several generations of the iPhone are highlighted here, and it's really very well done.

Thanksgiving is coming up this month in the United States, which means retailers are prepping for Black Friday. Just about every major store will have steep discounts on items, but whether they are worth fighting crowds for is another question. Target's ad for Black Friday was recently released, and there are a few noteworthy deals for Google, Amazon, and Samsung products.

Bixby button can finally be completely disabled with latest update [APK Download]

The opinion that Samsung's Bixby voice assistant is useless is one that is pretty universal. We've seen an epic war between Samsung and developers who wanted to remap the button (seriously, here are more links), but even after Samsung "disabled" the button in the last battle, Bixby would still activate the screen when pressed. Now though, disabling it will render it virtually nonexistent (which we've all been waiting for).

[Update: Sprint, too] Samsung Galaxy S8 Active may be coming to T-Mobile, first 'Active' branded device to leave AT&T

Samsung's Active line of flagships has been an AT&T-only zone for years. Since the first S4 variant launched in 2013, big blue has held exclusivity to the rugged flagship. (There was one Sprint S5 variant, but it wasn't called Active.) But the days of AT&Tyranny for the Active line are coming to an end. It looks like the durable IP-68 version of Samsung's flagship is headed to T-Mobile. At least, someday.

T-Mobile is now selling the Note8 for $820 ($110 off)

The Galaxy Note8 launched back in August, with a shockingly-high retail price of $929.99.
