Samsung Posts Jelly Bean Kernel Source Code For The International Note 10.1, Tab 2 10.1, and Tab 2 7

You know what's fun? Source code. Source code is fun. OK, maybe it's not everyone's idea of fun, but Samsung has just released the kernel code for three more tablets – the international Note 10.1 (GT-N8010), Tab 2 10.1 (GT-P5110), and tab 2 7 (GT-P3110) – and we thought some people may get excited about that.

This means more tweaks, mods, and other un-stock things are coming to the aforementioned devices. So, if you've been waiting to overclock (or some other neat thing) your tablet, keep an eye on your favorite dev – all the goodies should be just around the corner.

If you're still toting Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1, good news – CyanogenMod let loose a flurry of new nightlies for the device today, all carrying the CM 10.1 moniker, meaning owners of Samsung's ten-inch Tab from 2011 can enjoy a stock Android 4.2 experience with some key improvements. Among those receiving the new nightlies are the Wi-Fi only Tab (p4wifi), Verizon and T-Mobile connected variants (p4vzw and tmo), the p4, and even the p3, which is the Galaxy Tab 10.1v.

Cricket's Samsung Galaxy SIII Gets Its First Official CyanogenMod (10.1) Nightly

In a post to Google+ today, it was announced that Cricket's Samsung Galaxy SIII (otherwise known as d2cri) had received its first official CM 10.1 nightly, meaning Cricket-connected SIII users can enjoy the Android 4.2-based ROM with all the tweaks and features CyanogenMod fans have come to expect. Those who have followed the Cricket GSIII's progress toward an official nightly build will also be happy to learn that the device's camera woes have reportedly been solved.

US Cellular Updates Galaxy Note II To R950VXALL1, Adds Multi-Window [Full Changelog]

US Cellular is issuing an update to their variant of Samsung's Galaxy Note II, bringing the baseband version up to R950VXALL1. The headline feature with this update, as may be expected, is multi-window support. That's not all the R950VXALL1 package brings, though.

The update, besides evidently bringing the device up to Android "4.1.4" Jelly Bean (did you mean to say "4.1.2" there, USC?), brings an armload of bug fixes, from a "Burst Mode" camera fix to occasional toggling between 3G and 1X, to minor UI changes including the replacement of the notification shade's "sync" button with a multi-window shortcut and a makeover for the phone's Sound icon, switching from gray to green.

AT&T Re-Gifts Multi-Window Support, Gives It To Samsung Galaxy Note II Owners

Owners of the AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II have been patiently waiting for multi-window support on their enormous smartphones ever since launch, and just in time for an awkward after-Christmas present, the carrier has delivered. Today's over-the-air update brings software version JZO54K.I317UCALK7, Android 4.1.2, with the crucial addition of that useful desktop-style trick. T-Mobile Note II owners got the same treatment last week.

If you're unfamiliar with Multi-Window, the new version that the Note II uses allows users to split the screen into two sections with fully-functional apps, which are no longer limited to TouchWiz (as on the the Note 10.1 tablet).

Jelly Bean Update For The Original Galaxy Note Confirmed To Bring Enhanced Premium Suite With Multi-Window, Air View, And More

Ever since Samsung released the Note II with awesome new features like Multi-Window and Air View, owners of the original Note have been wondering if they would ever see these enhancements. Considering the Galaxy S III started receiving its Premium Suite update about a week ago, we all assumed that the Note would be next. Samsung has now confirmed that with a new microsite highlighting all of the features of the Jelly Bean Premium Suite for the phablet that started it all.

The update is set to bring many of the features that make the Note II so great, including Multi-Window, Popup Note/Video/Browser, Easy Clip, Paper Artist, Air View, and more.

CyanogenMod 10.1 Nightlies Come To The Samsung Vibrant

Own a Samsung Vibrant? Or, probably more correctly, recently pawned off a Samsung Vibrant to a relative and / or child, and want to make them hate it less? Good news! CyanogenMod 10.1 nightlies (based on Android 4.2 AOSP) are officially out for the Vibrant now, and you can get them at the CM website.

Definition: A "nightly" is a bleeding edge release that is built on a daily basis, usually at night after a full day's worth of new code has been committed.

It could oftentimes be unstable and not properly tested, lacking any changelogs, but eventually evolving into alphas, betas, release candidates, and finally stable releases.

Samsung Drops Jelly Bean Source For Verizon Galaxy S III

While the day after Christmas is rarely an exciting one in terms of tech news - aside from the length / level of disgruntledness of return lines around the US - we do have a tidbit for developers this morning. The Verizon Galaxy S III, recently updated to Android 4.1, now has matching source code. Tired Of Waiting On The Play Store? Staples Has The 32GB Nexus 10 In Stock, Ready To Ship [Update: Out Of Stock]

Update: At the time of writing, Staples has marked the Nexus 10 "Out of Stock." We'll let you know if and when it reappears.

It's no secret that the Nexus 10 has been sold out in the Play Store for some time now. Anxious would-be customers who are tired of waiting for the ten-inch Nexus with the fabled 2560x1600 (300ppi) display now have another solution, though – Staples has the 32GB Nexus 10 listed in stock, and estimates a delivery time of 2 business days.

The tablet was listed on Staples' website a few days prior to the time of writing, but was "out of stock." Today, however, it's ready to ship, though the Nexus' availability appears to be limited to the office chain's website and perhaps a few lucky physical locations.
