I hate the vast majority of rumors. About the only time I give a them any real consideration is when they're coming from a source that's highly reliable and they strike me as reasonable. It's for this reason I've stayed clear of the relative boatload of Galaxy S III rumors that we've been hearing for about a week now - first a potential render leaked (though we didn't like the looks of it).

If you didn't quite make it to Daily Steals' awesome deal a couple of days ago and still want to get your hands on an unlocked Galaxy Nexus at a crazy discount, Negri Electronics has you covered.

The online electronics dealer is offering the 16GB unlocked Galaxy Nexus for just $459.99. It's worth noting though, that the units being sold by Negri have NTT Docomo branding (meaning a teeny tiny logo near the bottom of the backplate).

If you've been eyeing Samsung's Galaxy Note but don't want to pay full price, 1SaleADay may be able to help. 1SaleADay has listed the Unlocked, 16GB variety of the Galaxy Note on eBay for just $549.99 (with free shipping). That's a cool $50 less than the last deal we saw on the Note.

For those that may not be familiar with Sammy's first ever "phablet," the Note, which promises "the best of a phone and a tablet," has some pretty sweet specs (including its luxuriously enormous display):

  • 5.3" Super AMOLED display
  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread (with ICS reportedly on the way in Q2)
  • S Pen Stylus
  • 16GB Internal Storage (with microSD slot)
  • 8MP Rear camera / 2MP front-facing shooter
  • 1GB RAM
  • 1.4GHz dual-core processor
  • 2500mAh Battery

Sound good?

After tons of leaks (mostly ridiculous), we're finally starting to hear some concrete information about the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S III, this time directly from the source: Samsung China CEO Kim Young-ha.

In a recent interview, Young-ha stated that Samsung is aiming to boost sales by 40% in China by launching an aggressive marking campaign for products such as TVs, laptops, home appliances, and, our favorite, smartphones. Since the Galaxy Note is already wildly popular in the Chinese market, Young-ha said Samsung is "considering rescheduling the rollout of the Galaxy S III from May to April," which makes this the first confirmation that we've heard from Samsung regarding any sort of potential GSIII launch timeframe.

The Samsung Galaxy S III rumors have been gathering quite a bit of pace lately. Just a few days ago, we saw a leaked image of what the phone could potentially look like, although we had our doubts over its authenticity due to the presence of physical buttons below the screen and the form factor of the device.

Fast forward a few days, and another image has "leaked" online, this time from the Dutch website GSM Helpdesk.

About three weeks ago, I reviewed a very elegant case from SPIGEN SGP for the Galaxy Nexus that I called "the perfect case for people who hate cases" - the Crumena from SPIGEN SGP.

The Crumena is a very elegant leather slipcase that is designed specifically for the Galaxy Nexus. Its top-load design makes it different than the normal on-device cases that we normally see, and its leather exterior give it a very sophisticated look.

It's always nice to see a device update roll out. This time around, we're seeing the details of a new software update for the Droid Charge spring up on Verizon's support page. The update brings things to version FP1, and mainly consists of some bug fixes and minor improvements:

While there are no really exciting changes here (*cough* Android updates *cough*), it's tough to complain about software support in any form.

Despite the fact that Samsung has said almost nothing about the upcoming Galaxy SIII, the rumor mill is churning so hard it threatens to break free from its foundation. The latest rumor about Sammy's upcoming flagship is pretty great – DDaily, a Korean IT news publication, is reporting (via anonymous sources) that Samsung's Galaxy SIII may have a "secret weapon" – a built-in inductive charger.

While the Galaxy SIII wouldn't be the first device to come standard with inductive charging (remember Palm's Touchstone?), DDaily reports that Samsung's wireless charging plans go a step further – evidently, the SIII wouldn't even need to be touching the charging mat to begin charging.

Samsung, a company once known for taking far too long to release updates and source code, has really done a 180 degree turn-around over the last several months. Updates are now coming in a more timely manner, and source code sometimes hits the scene before the device it supports is even released.

Keeping up with its current approach of timeliness, Samsung has now pushed the Ice Cream Sandwich kernel source code for the international version of the Galaxy S II, which just started receiving the update one week ago.
