Mark Your Calendars: Samsung Confirms Galaxy S IV Event In New York City, March 14th At 7PM EST [Updated]

Well folks, it's time for speculation and rumor on the Galaxy S IV to die... at least when it comes to the device's glamorous debut. Samsung Mobile division chief JK Shin confirmed to Edaily News (Korean) that the company's new flagship device will be revealed in New York City on Thursday, March 14th. The date was previously suspected after a well-known tipster leaked it earlier this week. Samsung has chosen to move its more typical European or Asian venue to the United States after it was "inundated" with requests from U.S.

Sprint's Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE Android 4.1.1 OTA Update (L399VPALJ9) Posted Online

If you've got a Sprint Galaxy Victory 4G LTE in your hand, you're no doubt craving a little Jelly Bean, since the budget smartphone launched with Android 4.0 back in September. While Samsung hasn't seen fit to update to the latest Android release (and likely won't for some time), you can still get some spiffy new features via the 4.1 update. Samsung Updates has posted what appears to be the official 4.1.1 over the air update, and it's downloadable right now.

[MWC 2013] Samsung Hopes To Outdo Google TV With The 1TB, Jelly Bean-Powered HomeSync

Samsung just unveiled the Galaxy Note 8.0, but they won't be satisfied until there's no stone unturned for Mobile World Congress. In a disappointingly dry press release the company debuted the Samsung HomeSync, an Android-powered set top box that combines Google TV features and a home media server. Major bullet points include a full terabyte of storage, WiFi and Ethernet access, and an interface powered by Jelly Bean (presumably 4.1) with full access to the Google Play Store.

[MWC 2013] Samsung Makes The Galaxy Note 8.0 Official Before MWC: Coming In The Second Quarter, No Price Available

We've seen it leaked a few times, but Samsung has beaten the Mobile World Congress rush and officially unveiled the Galaxy Note 8.0. The device is basically a super-sized version of the Note 2 smartphone, right down to the physical home button (a first for Samsung's post-Android 3.0 tablets), call capability, and vertical orientation.

The screen is an 8-inch 1280x800 panel, and it's unfortunately a TFT LCD - I had been hoping that they would make it Super AMOLED, and create a spiritual successor to the sadly underutilized Galaxy Tab 7.7.

First Leak Of Touchwiz-ified 4.2.1 Shows Up For The Samsung Galaxy S III (i9300)

Given Samsung's recent track record with updates, there's been little question whether or not the Galaxy S III would receive Jelly Bean 4.2.x, but a leak that showed up today over at SamMobile removes all doubt of the build's existence. The leak shows off Samsung's take on some of the 4.2 modifications, including a fully TouchWiz-ified Quick Settings menu (which actually looks more useful than stock Android's).

Aside from that, it appears that Sammy has added several voice actions, which should allow you to control various parts of the OS through speech.

[Rumor] Samsung To Hold An Event On March 14th In NYC, Possibly Announce The Galaxy S IV

Well, here we go. This isn't the first Galaxy S IV rumor we've seen or heard over the last several weeks, but it's the first one that may actually hold water. The story actually started earlier today, when Eldar Murtazin of Mobile-Review pasted a somewhat cryptic message on Twitter about "a big announcement" coming on March 14th. He went on to mention something about HTC missing One sales again.
