T-Mobile Formally Announces Budget Android Phones: Samsung Exhibit 4G For $79.99 and Samsung Gravity SMART For $69.99

As promised, T-Mobile has just announced its newest Android handsets: the Samsung Exhibit 4G and the Samsung Gravity SMART.

The two new Samsung devices will bolster T-Mobile's Android coffers by providing an affordable option for penny-pinching smartphone lovers.

The Samsung Exhibit 4G is the higher-end of the two devices, running Android 2.3 and featuring a speedy 1GHz processor, a 3 MP rear camera with flash and a camcorder, as well as a front-facing camera with video chat pre-installed and, of course, HSPA+ ("4G") connectivity. The device will also come preloaded with a bunch of games, including Bejeweled 2, Scrabble, and Doodle Jump.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 With 4G LTE Available For Pre-Order On June 8th From Verizon

We've already told you that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 would be available for pre-order (or in your hands, if you happen to live in NYC) on June 8th , but we've just gotten word that pre-orders will begin on the same day for a 4G LTE version on Verizon (no word on an official release date, though - it just says "this summer"). The pricing is not so exciting, however: $529 for the 16GB version, and $629 for the 32GB version - with a two-year agreement, of course. After a period of silence and uncertainty, Samsung released the floodgates of information about its Galaxy Tab 10.1 flagship tablet a few minutes ago. The ultraslim tablet will launch on June 8th at a single location - NYC's Union Square Best Buy of all places. If you don't happen to live in New York City, on the same day the Tab 10.1 will be available for pre-order in-store and online, ready to finally slip into your hands on June 17th nationwide.

Official launch partners include Best Buy online and in-store along with Fry’s Electronics, Amazon.com, Micro Center, Tiger Direct, and Newegg.

For the past 3 weeks, I've been rigorously testing Samsung's latest Android tablet - the Galaxy Tab 10.1, and I am happy to report that my verdict is now out. I hope you will forgive such a long review timeline, but I wanted to really dig in deep and get the full experience, all while comparing it to that of the Motorola XOOM.

Remember the special edition Galaxy Tab 10.1 that was given to all Google I/O attendees this year? It looks like the celebrations of owning a limited edition device have come to a screeching halt, as some owners are experiencing a very specific hardware issue with the device - the front glass is starting to become detached. Earlier today Android Community posted about one particular incident, with hopes that it was a fluke - but in all actuality, it was just the tip of the iceberg. Ever since then, more and more reports have been surfacing from users with the same issue.

Looking To Pick Up An Asus Transformer? Use NowInStock To Keep Tabs On Retailer's Stock Status

Official word from Asus is that they can't make enough Transformers to keep up with demand, something that's perhaps not surprising given that the tablet maintains high-end specs but a low-end price. Luckily for some users, keeping a hawkish eye on (r)etailer's websites has allowed them to snatch one up when the seller was lucky enough to get a few in stock. Now, however, there's an easier way, called NowInStock.

The service keeps tabs on a whole host of retailers and checks the stock situation every minute so that it's always up to date. Not only that, but as you can see, it shows the specific model and the price - impressive.

[Unconfirmed] Acer Delaying Iconia A100 Tablet Due To Honeycomb Restrictions On 7-Inch Screens?

The Acer Iconia A100 - a 7-inch Honeycomb tablet [unlike the 10" A500... makes sense, right? - Aaron]- was originally slated to hit the market in late May/early June, but has been delayed until August/September due to restrictions with Honeycomb on a 7-inch, 1024*600 display. Honeycomb was designed to take advantage of 10 inch, 1280*800 displays, and according to Digitimes, Google is too busy "resolving other issues" to tend to this little debacle, so Acer had no choice but to delay the device.

The first question that comes to my mind, however, has nothing to do with Acer - but instead, HTC and the Flyer (for those who may not know, the HTC Flyer also sports a 7 inch, 1024*600 display).

Has Samsung Learned? Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Will Ship With Android 3.1

Could Samsung have learned a lesson from the Galaxy S Froyo update shenanigans? The company will be shipping their hottest new device, the Galaxy Tab 10.1, with Honeycomb 3.1 rather than 3.0. No shipping with out-of-date software here - and pretty speedy turnaround, given that Honeycomb 3.1 probably hasn't been available to manufacturers for too long. Then again, the 10.1 doesn't have TouchWiz yet and won't until after release, so there was no custom UI to slow the update.

The news comes from a post on Samsung's Facebook:

And indeed, all official descriptions now show Honeycomb 3.1 rather than 3.0.
