Not much to say here - the Nexus 10 32GB is back in stock on the US Play Store right now. If you're on the fence, no pressure - they might only be gone in an hour. Or a few minutes. Or thirty seconds before you stopped debating and clicked the link. You better hurry up. Like now. The 16GB model is also in stock, though that's been the case for a couple days.
We all love Android, and we also love when Google releases a new iteration of our favorite mobile OS. Sometimes, though, even Google screws up a bit, and Android 4.2 is looking to be one of the most bug-ridden releases since Honeycomb. And, let's be honest: 4.2 isn't exactly the leap that 2.3 to 3.0 was, either. Chances are, if you're on Android 4.2, you've experienced at least one of the issues here. Some aren't that bad, but some can just ruin your day, and we're a little shocked Google missed them.
We'd love it if you could confirm whether these bugs happen on a device not listed as "known affected," or of any other serious issues you've been experiencing since the bump to 4.2 on your Nexus.
Wow, big day for root things on the Nexus 4 and 10, eh? First off, official ClockworkMod Recovery is now available for the pair, either directly from the CWM site or through ROM Manager, which was also updated today to support Android 4.2. While the latter can handle flashing the updated recovery, Koush himself advised users to flash via fastboot to avoid any potential issues with the process.
Koush also took it upon himself to update the Superuser application for 4.2, just until the original developer can get around to updating the official application in the Play Store. Alternatively, you can also flash SuperSU, which was developed by Chainfire.
Update: It looks like the 16GB Nexus 10 is back in stock now. If you were one of the unlucky few who missed the first batch of orders, go ahead and claim yours now.
There's no denying Google's launch of its new Nexus lineup has been a little bumpy. On launch day, we saw near-instantaneous shortages of the Nexus 4 in multiple countries including the US. Shortly after the Nexus 4 sold out in the US, the 32GB Nexus 10 fell. Then the Nexus 7 3G. Just today, we heard reports that many US customers were receiving "backorder" emails, indicating their Nexus 4 order may not ship for up to three weeks.
Since the Device Frame Generator moved to Google's Android Developer site and received its new name (Device Art Generator), we've heard nary a peep about additional frames or other updates. That appears to have changed today, however – the Device Art Generator now features gorgeous new frames for both the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10, of course with the ability to toggle shadow, glare, and rotation. If you're a developer who needs a nice easy way to build promotional collateral, or just an average user who wants to create beautifully-framed screenshots, hit the link below.
Chances are if you're a Galaxy Nexus or Nexus 7 owner (or soon to be Nexus 4 / Nexus 10 owner), you probably have reason to head into the developer options menu once in a while. Or like me, just once ever to enable USB debugging. Regardless, if you go looking for these options in Android 4.2, you won't find them. That's because Google has - for whatever reason - hidden them from view in this latest update. Probably to prevent ordinary consumers from finding them, you know, for all the damage those highly dangerous developer options could cause.
Anyway, to access the Developer Options menu, and things like USB debugging, just do the following:

If you're a resident of the US waiting for your chance at one of the new Nexus devices, you've no doubt been growing envious as countries around Europe (and Australia) got to place their own orders before (and after) the rumored 12am PST launch time for the US.
Well, I've got some (kind of) good news – the wait is almost over. Google has confirmed to us that both the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 will be open for order to US Play Store customers beginning tomorrow, Tuesday November 13th, 2012 at 9:00am PST. The confirmation comes via a quick call to the Nexus support line (1-855-83-NEXUS).
It looks like we can add one more market to the list of those to which Google has opened the Nexus gates. Customers in a few European countries can now claim their own Nexus 4 or Nexus 10 from Google Play. Note: since these orders just opened up, you may see some errors or inconsistencies with ordering or availability. If any of the devices appear to truly be out of stock, we'll update this post.
The new flagships, which are both impressively spec'ed and amply powerful, have been hotly anticipated since their late-October announcement, and should be available for those in select other countries soon.
Those of you who have been anxiously waiting to relieve that itch in your trigger finger should head to the Play Store and place your orders as soon as you can.
Google promised an OTA update that brings multiple user accounts to the Nexus 10 and lockscreen widgets to both the 10 and the 4 before the official launch date of November 13th. For two days now, Ron and I have been mashing the Check Updates button on our respective devices over and over hoping to get this update as quickly as possible... and we just got it.
This, of course, brings both of our devices up to full retail, complete with the above mentioned features. Before today, we didn't have a whole lot of info about how lockscreen widgets were going to work, and it turns out they're pretty simple.
Have you been chomping at the bit to figure out when you'll actually be receiving that Nexus 4 or Nexus 10 from the Play Store that you're definitely going to buy? Well, here's your answer, straight from Google: orders will begin for both on the 13th, and those orders will start shipping the same day. No pre-orders will be taken. So, if you go for overnight shipping, you could theoretically have sweet Nexus goodness the very next day - November 14th. To put an asterisk on this statement, if your country has the Nexus 4 / 10 set for release on the 13th, too, the above probably applies to you, as well.
