If you're sporting Verizon's variant of the Tab 7.7, then you're probably sick of Honeycomb. Good news for you! The ICS update is ready to go and should begin rolling out in the coming days.

The Galaxy Tab 7.7 has been banned in Germany for a while. Now, though, the 7.7" tablet is officially banned throughout the whole of the EU. Previously Apple was able to enforce a ban on the smaller of the Tabs because it has proven in German courts that it owns the design IP for black rectangles in reference to the Galaxy Tab 10.1. In Germany, Apple can enforce this injunction against the Tab 7.7 due to a principle known as "kerngleicher Verstoß", or "violation sharing the same core".

Verizon Wireless has just made public an official list of handsets on the network poised to receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OTA updates, most being devices for which such updates were a given at this point:

HTC:

  • HTC ThunderBolt™
  • DROID Incredible 2 by HTC
  • HTC Rhyme™
  • HTC Rezound™

Motorola:

  • Motorola XOOM
  • DROID BIONIC™
  • DROID RAZR™
  • DROID RAZR™ MAXX™
  • DROID 4
  • DROID XYBOARD 8.2
  • DROID XYBOARD 10.1

Samsung:

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab™ 10.1
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab™ 7.7

LG:

  • Spectrum™ by LG

No timeframe was provided, but this is probably the most authoritative ICS update list you'll see out there, if for only one reason: in the end, it's Verizon that decides whether or not a device on its network gets updated.

The Ice Cream Sandwich-packing Galaxy Tab 2 it may not be, but the Galaxy Tab 7.7 that Verizon unveiled at CES last month still isn’t to be dismissed out of the gate – the now-official tablet will be arriving in stores on March 1st, complete with:

  • 7.7 inch, 1280×800 Super AMOLED Plus display
  • 1.4 GHz Dual-Core processor
  • Android 3.2 with Touchwiz
  • 16 GB storage
  • 3 MP rear camera with LED flash
  • 2 MP front-facing camera
  • 7.9 mm thickness
  • SD card slot
  • LTE

Sure, Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) is a tad outdated, but still, it would be hard to resist the largest Super AMOLED Plus display to date, right?

The tablet flood continues, the latest from Sammy is the Galaxy Tab 7.7 for Verizon. This little guy hopes to stand out from the crowd with the largest OLED display Samsung has ever put on a tablet: a 7.7 inch, Super AMOLED Plus Display.

The "Plus" on the end of "Super AMOLED Plus" means "not pentile," so you're even getting the full compliment of subpixels. It looks like this:

Now for the bad news, it's only Android 3.2, and it's got Touchwiz, and lots of crapware.

While we've yet to actually see a release date for the Galaxy Tab 7.7 that Samsung debuted back in September, the company has now dropped the kernel source code for the device. In the past, this usually indicates an impending release, so we're willing to bet that availability will be officially announced at CES next week.

For those who need a reminder of what the Tab 7.7 is all about:

  • 7.7-inch 1280x800 Super AMOLED Plus display (the first tablet to have this)
  • 1.4GHz dual-core Exynos
  • 3MP rear shooter, 2MP 'round front
  • Android 3.2
  • 5,100mAh battery

Of course, a lot can change in three months, so we may actually see some changes made to the specs of the device before its release.

Samsung's Galaxy Tab 7.7 seemed like a promising tablet when announced at IFA, despite the fact that it was evidently not headed for the U.S. Those hoping to get their hands on the device however will be interested to learn that the 7.7 has disappeared from IFA altogether. All that is left of the device's display is a drab curtain and velvet rope.

The latest news has come in the form of an official statement from Samsung, sent to thedroidguy indicating that the removal of the 7.7 from IFA did in fact have to do with a court decision made on September 2nd.

If the insanely high-res screens of the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab 7.7 have you drooling, you're certainly not alone. But if you live in the US, it's all too likely that you will never have the opportunity to see either of the devices in person.

At IFA 2011, the very same conference where the 7.7 and the Note were made official, a Samsung representative told GottaBeMobile that there are currently no plans to sell the gadgets in the US.

Thanks to Samsung's Unpacked app, we already knew that the South Korean company would be announcing the Galaxy Tab 7.7 today, but now we have official confirmation along with a full list of specs to match.

It goes without saying that the latest addition to Samsung's tablet family will have a 7.7-inch display, but this display will pack a resolution of 1280 x 800, the same as the recently announced Samsung Note smartphone.
