Logitech Bluetooth Keyboard Case For Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Available For Pre-Order For $99

When most people get a new device of any kind, one of the first things that they start looking for is good accessories. For tablets, some of the more sought after add-ons include keyboards for added functionality and cases to protect the investment, but the brilliant minds over at Logitech decided that it would be much more practical to combine the two with the new keyboard case designed specifically for the Galaxy Tab 10.1.

While we've already taken a look at the official Samsung keyboard for the Tab 10.1 both before and after the TouchWiz UX update, we were still left wanting more -- even going as far as to recommend waiting for the $150 Samsung Bluetooth keyboard/case combo.

[Review] TouchWiz UX On Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi: Is It Better Than Stock Honeycomb?

It has been nearly a day since Samsung pushed the TouchWiz UX update to retail Galaxy Tab 10.1 units across the country, and having spent most of the day playing with it, I want to share my thoughts on it with all of you.

Before we get into the details, though, I want to address one important thing: root access. My Tab 10.1 was rooted (stock ROM and kernel) with ClockworkMod recovery before the update started rolling out, so I was naturally hesitant to pull it for fear of losing root privileges. After doing a bit of research, I decided to go ahead and pull the stock update just to see what happened.

[Updated: #1 Revealed] Samsung's "It's Time To Tab" Video Contest Is Almost Over, And If This Is 4th Place, The Winner Should Be Nominated For An Oscar [Video]

Samsung's call for amateur promotional Galaxy Tab 10.1 videos attracted many entries so far, most of which have already been posted by the company on YouTube. The winner is still MIA, but if the 4th place that you can see below is all the way down at 4th place, I am definitely looking forward to #1 (though I can't agree with the choices for #2 and #3).

Well done, Sergio A. M., wherever you are. You should have at least been at #2.

Update 8/5/11: The #1 video was posted, and in my opinion, it's not even close to #4 above.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi TouchWiz UX Update Is Now Live!

To all those who have been [im]patiently waiting for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 OTA to go live, wait no more - the update started rolling out at exactly 12:00am EST. This update brings a whole slew of awesome to the Tab 10.1, including TouchWiz UX and all of its added benefits. I know there are a lot of skeptics out there since this is the first major custom overlay to hit a Honeycomb tablet, but judging from the early reports, it has been very well received.

Here's a quick reminder of what to expect:

[Updated] Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Keyboard Dock Review [+Video]

Intro

Update 8/9/11: Cameron took the keyboard out for a spin after the TouchWiz UX update and posted his impressions here. In short, it fixes some bugs, but most of the shortcomings remain in my opinion, and my verdict doesn't change.

Some people may never end up updating to TouchWiz UX, so I'm leaving the review below intact.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is currently my favorite Android tablet, so I was excited to see how some of its accessories, like the keyboard dock in this review, pan out. If the tablet is so drool-inducing, how bad can a keyboard dock made specifically for it be?

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 TouchWiz UX Update Rolling Out On August 5th

Last week we told you that Samsung would be holding an event in NYC on August 3rd (today) to unveil the TouchWiz UX update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi. That event has come and gone, and while attendees are getting their Tab's updated live, the rest of the country will have to wait until August 5th to see the update. Of course, if you live in NYC, you can swing by The Shops at Columbus Circle between 1:00PM to 6:00PM and get your Tab updated immediately.

The TouchWiz UX update brings some pretty awesome features to the Tab 10.1, like Live Panels, Mini-Mode Tray, an advanced clipboard, Indicator Quick Panel, and a Photo Editor:

  • Live Panel: Magazine-like widget view for immediate access to weather, social updates, email, news, photo gallery, all on the home screen.

Google I/O Limited Edition Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Receives OTA Update (KG4) Adding Support For Google Videos/Movies, Locks Bootloader

My favorite Android tablet, the I/O limited edition Galaxy Tab 10.1, received a small update today with version number KG4 (full version: HMJ37.UEKG4 P7510UEKG4). The only new feature the update seems to bring is the Videos/Movies app from Google, which is otherwise not available from the Android Market. Disappointingly, I don't see a new Movies tab in the Market, so literally only the Videos app was added and nothing else. What a silly way to roll out new apps, considering I had to reboot to perform it.

Since the Pulse app prevented the previous update KF3 from going through until I did a restore from the original system dump, I'm not surprised that Samsung is asking to remove any shortcuts or widgets linking to the Pulse app from any home screen prior to the update.

4G LTE Equipped Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (And Accessories) Now Available At Verizon

Two days ago we let you know that the 4G LTE variant of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 was set to hit Big Red's sales floor on July 28th for $530 (with a two-year agreement, that is). That day is here, and right on schedule, the LTE Tab 10.1 is ready to go in VZW stores across the country.

Accompanying what is probably the best Android tablet on the market, you'll find a whole slew of accessories to optimize the usefulness and experience of the Tab. Among the add-ons is the Multimedia Charging Dock for $50, a desk accessories that allows you to dock your Tab 10.1 in landscape mode, charge it, and plug up some external speakers -- great for watching movies or listening to music; USB and SD Card Connection Kit for $30, so you can take advantage of the USB host support in Android 3.1 or increase storage with an SD card; and a $40 HDMI adapter for streaming content directly to your HDTV in 1080p.

Samsung Hosting An Event In NYC On August 3rd To Unveil The TouchWiz UX Update For The Galaxy Tab 10.1

An email just hit our inboxes directly from Samsung, inviting us all to join together in NYC on August 3rd for the official unveiling of a "major software update" for the Galaxy Tab 10.1.

We have known that this update was coming for the past several weeks, but now we can finally lock something a bit more concrete down. According to the above image, onsite Tab 10.1 updates will be open to the public at the event, so I wouldn't be surprised if we started seeing a national rollout begin that very same day.

For those who are unaware, TouchWiz UX will bring a lot of useful features to the device, including a mini-app tray for quick access to frequently used applications and an infinitely useful notification area power widget.
