Some Galaxy S8 and S8+ users are having problems with Qi wireless charging

A number of users on Samsung's forums and XDA have been reporting issues with some Qi chargers, including those manufactured by Samsung. Some devices aren't able to make use of Qi's Fast Charge feature, and in some cases they are failing to charge at all. The chargers made by Samsung specifically for the S8 and S8+ seem to be working fine, but it's strange that other Qi certified chargers, including Samsung's older ones, aren't having the same success.

Samsung Galaxy S8 pre-orders top previous S7 record by 30%

After the fallout from the total recall of the defective Samsung Galaxy Note7, many observers worried that the company's reputation could be permanently damaged, leading to a lack of confidence in future devices and ultimately to lower sales. That appears not to be the case. In a statement, Samsung has proudly pointed out that US pre-orders of its latest flagship Android phones, the Galaxy S8 and S8+, have topped their predecessors by a remarkable 30%. You can still remap the Galaxy S8's Bixby button, but it's a messy hack

Samsung announced the Bixby assistant several weeks ahead of the Galaxy S8 launch. We were told at the time this feature would let you control apps by voice and get contextual information. It doesn't do any of that at launch, though. Naturally, people want to remap the Bixby button, and that's still possible despite Samsung's attempts to block it. However, the remapping apps are pretty hacky.

[Updated: AT&T, too!] T-Mobile and Verizon update Galaxy S8 and S8+ just in time for launch

The two phones may not have even come out until today, but T-Mobile and Verizon have been on their toes. The Galaxy S8 and S8+ on everyone's favorite red and magenta networks have already been updated. T-Mobile is a bit scant on details, but Verizon has obliged with plenty of their own. How to take a screenshot on the Galaxy S8 (because it's different now)

You may have just read the title of this post and stormed immediately to the comments, about to write an essay about how Android Police is just fishing for page views. Surely there's no need for an article about how to take a screenshot, right? Actually, in this case, yes. Taking screenshots on the Galaxy S8 requires a different button combination than previous models, causing confusion for some buyers.

The Galaxy S8 will have no external carrier branding, even on Verizon and AT&T

No matter how you feel about Samsung and the Galaxy S8/S8 Plus, you have to admit they're really, really pretty phones. The curved display and sleek frame are incredibly well-designed compared to most other devices, and the GS8 will stand out in one other unexpected way—there's no carrier branding. Even Verizon and AT&T have been persuaded not to stamp their logos all over the phones.

Sprint offering two-for-one deal on Galaxy S8, but beware the fine print

The Galaxy S8 is starting to trickle out to those who pre-ordered, but Sprint is offering what sounds like a very good deal for anyone still on the fence. Starting tomorrow, you can get two Galaxy S8 smartphones (not the Plus) for the price of one, which seems great. Like with all things Sprint lately, there's a ton of fine print that you need to factor in.
