Sprint Galaxy Note II Gets Its First OTA Update (Build L900VPALJC), Brings Multi-Window And More

Note II early adopters on the Now Network, time to head into the Settings menu and check for updates - Sprint just announced a new OTA is rolling out for its iteration of the phablet. This update brings a few meh changes, like GPS lock setting enhancements, email fixes, and improved text message notifications while talking on the phone. But it also brings one major feature: Multi-Window. It's good to see this feature start rolling out to U.S. handsets, as it's been on the Korean and International versions for several weeks now.

Samsung Posts Jelly Bean Open Source Files For Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, 7.0, AT&T Galaxy Note II

It looks like Samsung has posted up some fresh new open source files today, including files for the AT&T-connected Galaxy Note II. The real story, though, is that Jelly Bean open source files have also been posted for both the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, neither of which have received their official 4.1 updates just yet.

Readers may remember Samsung hinting at an impending update for these (and other devices) back in September, but the availability of these files may suggest that the update is looming very near.

[Deal Alert] International Galaxy Note II 16GB Available From eBay Daily Deals For $579 (Normally $799)

If you missed this deal a couple weeks ago, then you're in luck. Today, ebay Daily Deals has the international Galaxy Note II available for a second time. For round two, the price has dropped slightly lower to $579 for the unlocked phone. More specifically, this is for the white, 16GB model.

Again, while the retail price of this phone is around $800, you can still find it online for $660 on a normal day. Today isn't a normal day, however, and the lower price tag will still save you about $80 if you're buying unlocked. If you're after an off-contract deal, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better one for this phone, so grab it while it's hot.

Samsung Has Already Sold 3 Million Galaxy Note II's

Back when Samsung announced that, as of March 2012, it had sold 5 million Galaxy Notes (a period of roughly 5 months), much of the tech journalism world was a little taken aback. Myself included. How could a ridiculous 5.3" phone be selling in the millions? It was a device that was absolutely destroyed by critics in reviews - called ridiculous, cumbersome, and niche. It was destined to be a geek's phone, and a subset of geeks at that.

But when those sales figures came in, everybody just sort of shut up about the Note being a bad idea. And now the reviews of the Note II are in and, surprise surprise, none are nearly as hard on the phone-meets-tablet's large form factor.

Now that we've seen Samsung's Galaxy Note II go up for grabs at T-Mo, Sprint, and US Cellular, it's time we began expecting to see Samsung drop kernel source code for the carriers' respective variants. That's just what Sammy has done, recently releasing the open source kernel files for SGH-T889, SCH-R950_USC, SPH-L900_SPR, and a bonus device – AT&T's Galaxy Rugby Pro, lovingly called SGH-I547_ATT.

Samsung Galaxy Note II Now Live At U.S. Cellular For $300 With A Two-Year Agreement

U.S. Cellular customers, if you've been chomping at the bit to get your hands on the latest behemoth phone from Samsung, today's your day. The Note II is now available directly from the regional carrier's website, as well as in stores.

Of course, to grab the latest flagship from the Korean manufacturer, it's going to cost you. Three-hundred dollars worth of cost you, to be exact. You'll also have to commit to being exclusive with the provider for the next two years, but you probably already knew that. If all that sounds acceptable to you, hop on over the U.S.

Samsung Galaxy Note II Available From Sprint Today For $300, No Pre-Order Necessary

As promised, the Galaxy Note II is now available for purchase on Sprint for $650 less a $350 instant rebate, for a total of $300. Though T-Mobile was first to the punch by a day, Sprint is offering it for a not-insubstantial $70 cheaper.

$300 may seem a bit steep for a smartphone, but keep in mind that this isn't your typical device. It's got a 1.6Ghz quad-core Exynos CPU, 2GB of RAM, LTE, 5.5" 1280x720 Super AMOLED Plus display, plus that infamous S Pen stylus to help you get the most from the ginormous screen. And on top of all that, it runs Jelly Bean and packs a massive battery.

Pre-Orders Go Live For AT&T, Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

We've seen a lot of news surrounding Samsung's Galaxy Note II in the past 24 hours, from T-Mobile's official launch all the way down to Lebron James' custom Note II cover. We've got one more piece of news before the day's done though – pre-orders for the Note II's AT&T and Verizon variants have just gone live.

Those looking to grab the AT&T-connected Note II will need to shell out an unsurprising $299.99 with 2-year activation, and can expect their devices to ship out on November 6th, just in time for the network's November 9th launch date. It's worth noting though that (at least for now) AT&T is only offering up the "Titanium Gray" Note II.

The US Cellular Galaxy Note II Will Launch On October 26th, $299 On 2-Year Agreement

If you're a US Cellular customer and also interested in the Galaxy Note II, good news: the Note II will be available on the southern regional carrier starting Friday, October 26th, in stores and online. The price remains the same as it has since the pre-order, at $299 on a new 2-year agreement. Today is also the last day you can pre-order the Note II on USC, and those orders will begin shipping tomorrow.
