AlphaRevX, the same team that unlocked and provided full S-OFF for the Incredible S, Desire (GSM and CDMA), Wildfire, Aria, Incredible 2, and Desire S, are back again in a big way: with a full unlock, S-OFF and permanent root for the Sensation. Have a look:

AlphaRevX have already stated that they have full root and S-OFF for the EVO 3D as well, although we're not sure if it uses the same method, as the download has yet to be released.

In a recent patent suit between HTC and Apple, the US International Trade Commission found the Taiwanese manufacturer liable on two counts of patent infringement in its Android-based devices (see our earlier post for a detailed analysis of the case and its effects).

Although this suit only involves Apple and HTC, its legal ramifications could affect Android as a whole - since the alleged infringements are core parts of the Android OS developed by Google.

The "Anymode Smart Case" for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has been pulled from the market by none other than Samsung itself, due to lack of proper "Designed for Samsung Mobile" certification on Anymode's part. The Smart Case bears a strong resemblance to the iPad 2's Smart Cover, which led to some pretty harsh criticism when it was first released, and probably to its current situation as well. It's worth noting that while the Anymode case may look like Apple's Smart Cover, it doesn't offer the same functionality (i.e.

Unconfirmed rumours obtained from Pocketnow and a DLNA certificate for the device indicate that the upcoming HTC Kingdom is likely to be sold by Sprint as the HTC Hero 4G. Apparently, there are also indications of the device appearing in the EXIF data on photo-sharing sites.

We came across the HTC Kingdom in early May when a ROM of the device was leaked by the Chinese blog 911sniper.

Canadian telecom Rogers have given Android users north of the border a bit of good news this afternoon, as they've confirmed that their release of the HTC Evo 3D will have an unlocked bootloader.

This response came from Rogers rep "RogersKatie" in the discussion thread below a blog post announcing their forthcoming Android products. This hopefully confirms the carrier's official stance on the matter, and isn't a matter of miscommunication.

As a Canadian consumer, this is a great step in the right direction when it comes to keeping our devices up to date and in line with Android devices in the United States.

Android's latest indirect legal tussle to come to a head, a patent suit between HTC and Apple, was ruled on last week by the US ITC (Court of International Trade) - finding the Taiwanese manufacture liable for two counts of patent infringement. This news has spread like wildfire through every corner of the tech blog world. But is there really anything that's changed right now (or even in the near future) because of the outcome of this suit?

The U-verse AT&T Mobile app that allows users to access their DVRed shows and movies, as well as the entire mobile library of over 700 shows, from their smartphone picked up support for three more devices today: the LG Thrive, LG Phoenix, and Samsung Infuse 4G, bringing the total number of supported devices to more than 20.

In related news, AT&T also pushed out its U-Verse Service and Support Tool app (SST), which offers customers quick access to a gaggle of support documents and tools for their U-Verse TV, internet, voice, and email services.

Owners of Samsung's Android devices are being treated to Cyanogen left, right and center lately. Just a few days ago, the Fascinate joined the ranks of Samsung CM7 devices alongside the Captivate, Nexus S 4G, Vibrant, and the Galaxy S, and now you can add the Galaxy S II to that list.

Atin M, a developer of Cyanogen, posted the news on Google+ earlier, saying:

Ok, Samsung Galaxy S2 should be getting CyanogenMod7 nightlies soon (as soon as builtbot is ready to do builds, they're all broken at the moment).

For those of you who've been looking for a nice deal to help beat this summer heat, Target is now offering an Infuse 4G for the low, low price of $50 on a two year contract.

The deal requires you to sign up a new AT&T account for the pricing to take effect, and is available both in their brick-and-mortar stores and online. I'm not sure if this little caveat means that current users of the service will be left out in the cold, or whether they'll just have to renew their contracts.

  • 16GB storage, MicroSD card slot
  • 5MP rear and 2MP front cameras
