Google Rolls Out The Accelerated Mobile Pages Project To Help Webpages Load Instantaneously On Your Phone Or Tablet

What's more annoying than a slow webpage? A slow webpage on your phone. Ain't nobody got time for that when a connection is bouncing back and forth between 3G and LTE. And that means a publisher somewhere is missing out on traffic. It's a lose-lose situation.

Unfortunately this is the hole we find ourselves in. Webpages aren't the simple creations they used to be. Sites plug in to other sites, meaning you have to wait for third-party ads, widgets, and comment sections to load up before you can start browsing the way you'd like.

To address this, Google is introducing what it calls Accelerated Mobile Pages.

[Deal Alert] Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge 64GB International Unlocked G925F Variant Is Down To $549.99 On Ebay

Remember the exorbitant amount of casheesh that Samsung wanted for its Galaxy S6 Edge less than half a year ago? Yeah, that's no more. As is the case with most flagships, if you're patient enough to wait for prices to drop, they inevitably will and to a point where you could actually consider forking that much money for them.

A few weeks ago, we spotted the 32GB S6 Edge down at $499, and now we're seeing the 64GB version at an equally awesome discount. How awesome? $549.99. That's how much the eBay seller wants for the G925F model, which is the international unlocked variant of the phone.

HTC Views Breast Cancer Awareness Month As The Perfect Time To Sell The Pink HTC One M9 Here In The States

We're at the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness month, which means now is a good opportunity to take whatever product you're selling and offer it in pink. HTC has decided to do precisely that. If you want to raise awareness of breast cancer or merely draw attention to that colorful piece of metal you keep raising to your ear, then you're the person who should take advantage of this time to buy a limited edition pink GSM HTC One M9. You can even have the pink ribbon imprinted on the back.

If this hot pink device looks familiar, that's because HTC showed off its flagship in this color back when it launched the device in Taiwan seven months ago.

Confirmed: The Nexus 5X Only Comes With A USB Type-C Cable - No Type-C-To-Type-A Cable In The Box

USB Type-C is the future... but the future isn't here yet. Odds are pretty good that most of your electronics still use the Type-A cable standard (the usual rectangular USB port that we've all become accustomed to). So for the next few years, converter cables and adapters will be needed in the same way that we used to need converters between Mini and MicroUSB cable types. Unfortunately, that's going to be the case for the Nexus 5X - the only cable and charger in the box is the reversible Type-C at both ends.

That's in contrast to the more expensive Nexus 6P, which comes with both a Type-C-to-Type-C cable and a Type-C-to-Type-A cable, presumably specifically because it's more expensive.

Russia's Anti-Monopoly Agency Says Google Must Alter Its Contracts With Russian Carriers Or Face Fine Equal To 15% Of 2014 Revenue

Acting on a complaint by Russian search giant Yandex, Russia's antitrust authority has ruled that Google's policy forbidding the pre-installation of competing search providers on GMS-enabled devices is illegal in the country. Yandex, who dominates the huge Russian market on the desktop, has been hemorrhaging market share in mobile to Google. Their complaint is that Google cannot have a rule requiring Google be the default (and only) search engine on devices that ship with the Play Store.

Now, Google never prevents people from downloading a different search provider from the Play Store. From the perspective of Yandex, though, Google dominates the mobile market so much that this policy is an abuse of their power.

Moto X Pure Edition (2015) Review: A Great Phone For A Great Price

The original Moto X was a modestly sized phone with modest specs, but it's gotten more powerful and bigger each year. Now, the third-generation Moto X is a true phablet with flagship specs, but the price is still quite reasonable. After experimenting with carrier exclusives and subsidies, the company is going it alone with the new Moto X Pure Edition (AKA the Moto X Style outside the US).

This phone starts at $399 and is not being sold through any carriers. It still has Moto Maker customizations, and some of Motorola's past shortcomings have been addressed. So, has Motorola finally hit one out of the park, or is it overshadowed by more expensive phones?
