[Deal Alert] Google's Play Store Accessory Sale Returns For April Fool's Day, Still Genuinely Saves You 25% Off Select Cases

Google's 25% off cases sale has returned, and thankfully so. The products the company offers in the Play Store aren't cheap. Yet while there are more affordable options to be found elsewhere, there's nothing quite like a first-party case to provide a perfect fit and that proud Nexus branding. Now you can again snag up one for the Nexus 5 or Nexus 7 at 75% of the original price.

[April Fools] The Chromecast Is Perfect For Squirrels, May Contain Nuts

Google is really heavy on the joke content this year. There's the Photobombing, Pokémon Maps, Signature Apps, and now Chromecast for Squirrels. What? Small mammals have video they want to watch on bigger screens too.

The video really drives the point home that Chromecast is all about squirrel empowerment and choice. No longer will squirrels have to watch human video content, because now there's Chromecast. As for the paw-friendly app situation, Google is working on that.

Samsung Announces The Galaxy Tab 4 Line In 7, 8, and 10.1-inch Varieties, All Packing KitKat And Mediocre Specs

With the introduction of the Galaxy TabPRO series earlier this year, you might expect the older Galaxy Tab line to continue to occupy the lower end of the market. And you'd be right: the Galaxy Tab 4 (or, stylized, Tab4) devices roughly follow in the footsteps of the Tab 3 hardware with 7-inch, 8-inch, and 10.1-inch varieties. And yes, they still have physical navigation buttons.

[April Fools] HTC Reinvents The Nintendo Power Glove As HTC Gluuv, Makes The Same Basic Joke As Samsung

You know what trend in mobile is easy to make fun of? Wearables, of course. Most smart watches almost make fun of themselves. At some point in the last few weeks, the marketing folks at HTC and Samsung apparently came to very similar conclusions about the best way to lampoon wearables – gloves. Samsung came up with the Samsung Fingers smart glove, but HTC has just pseudo-announced the HTC Gluuv. Same basic joke, different execution.

A few days ago, it was confirmed that Google had started asking manufacturers to brand boot animations with a specific "Powered by Android" lockup as part of Google's Mobile Services license. HTC One Mini (M4) Gains Official CyanogenMod Support, Early Build Now Available For Download

When it comes to "small" phones sporting 4.3-inch displays, the options are really slim these days. The top options each come with custom UIs, and consumers don't have the luxury of picking up a Google Play Edition of any of them. People who want a zippy stock Android experience on a smaller device that's still relatively powerful are therefore placed in a position to take matters into their own hands. For HTC One Mini (M4) owners, CyanogenMod is now here to help.

Chromecast apps are popping up almost faster than we can install them, but let's not forget one of the first apps to show us what the Chromecast was capable of doing.
