Sprint's Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Finally Getting Jelly Bean, Should Be Rolling Out Now

It's been a long time coming, but Sprint's version of the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is finally getting updated to Jelly Bean (Android 4.2.1). There are quite a few reasons to pull this update, as it brings several enhancements over Ice Cream Sandwich, including Google Now, Project Butter (for smoothness), enhanced notifications, lockscreen widgets, and much more.

Aside from that, the update also brings a "Wi-Fi Qualcomm driver fix" so the device will automatically connect to the most recent Wi-Fi hotspot, as well as a "device self activation client update." Sounds intense.

According to Sprint's post, the update should be rolling out now OTA, though there's no word of whether or not you can pull it through Kies.

Supposed Images Of The Galaxy S IV Show Up On A Chinese Forum, But Something Doesn't Add Up

We're four days ahead of Samsung's Galaxy S IV announcement event in NYC, and some alleged images of the device have made their way onto a Chinese forum. Before we even discuss the potential legitimacy, though, let's not forget that Samsung was able to keep the GSIII under wraps until the very day it was ready to show it off to the world. The company shared how it did that shortly after the GSIII's release, where it detailed the extreme security measures used to ensure the device remained a mystery. These tactics also included putting the handset into several different fake shells, so when the inevitable images showed up online, it was nearly impossible to discern the real thing from fake.

US Cellular Galaxy S III And Note II Being Updated To Software Build MB1

US Cellular's variants of the Galaxy S III and Note II are slated to receive OTA updates to the MB1 build, which includes a bump to Android version 4.1.2 for the GS IIII (the previous Note II update here, previous GS III update here).

The Galaxy S III's release notes indicate only two changes: the aforementioned increase in OS version, and a fix for audio when playing streaming media (this may fix a long-reported issue with Netflix playback on the device).

Nexus 7 Arrives In The Play Store In South Korea, Nexus 4 May Be Launching In Japan Soon

The international rollout continues as Google has announced that the Nexus 7 is now on sale in South Korea. This marks the ninth country the tablet can be purchased in and the widest availability of any Play Store hardware to date. The first runner up is the Nexus 10 with a whopping 8 countries.

Nexus 4 in Japan

The Nexus 4, however, wants to catch up in that list with a possible Japanese launch. We've previously heard reports that the handset had already appeared, but multiple Japan residents have confirmed to us the phone is not actually on sale yet.

Sprint Officially Announces Optimus G Jelly Bean (Android 4.1.2) Update

While it began to trickle out to a few users at the end of February, the Android 4.1 upgrade for Sprint's Optimus G remained unannounced up until today. Here's the official changelog:

Motorola Officially Announces Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update For DROID RAZR And RAZR MAXX

It's been a long time coming, but Motorola today officially announced that the Android 4.1 (aka Jelly Bean) update for the DROID RAZR and RAZR MAXX will be rolling out in phases soon. The update brings all the Android 4.1 trimmings you may have already come to know and love, like Google Now, enhanced rich notifications, and more.

This update is also supposedly heavily de-bloated in terms of Moto's old don't-call-it-BLUR software suite, with many apps having been replaced with their Google-made counterparts. Here's Motorola's detailed changelog:

[Update 2: It's Back] AT&T Announces One X Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) Update Is Rolling Out Today

Update 2: The blog post is back, and the update should be rolling out today!

Update: It sounds like the blog post announcing the update was published erroneously, and has since been pulled down. While that's definitely a bit of a disappointment, it does mean that the update should be headed out very soon. Just not today. Bummer.

AT&T just announced that its version of the HTC One X will be receiving an update to Android 4.1 starting today. Here's the brief changelog that AT&T has published, which basically just explains Google Now and the new rich notifications of Android 4.1, along with a tweak to the front-facing camera.

ASUS Announces The Transformer AiO P1801, The Windows 8/Android Desktop/Tablet Hybrid, Will Arrive April 12th For $1299

Back at Computex 2012 last year, ASUS showed off an 18" Windows 8 all-in-one desktop that could turn into a gigantic Android tablet simply by sliding the display out of the dock. Questions aside about whether anyone needs or wants an 18" Android tablet, the tech was certainly neat. This isn't a dual-boot situation, but rather two completely concurrent OSes being run on two separate systems in the same device. The whole of the hardware carries an Intel processor and NVIDIA SoC. Now, ASUS has seen fit to announce some launch details: it will be landing (with a thud) on April 12th at a starting price of $1299.
