Google Stops Selling The LG Watch Urbane In The Google Store

In case you missed the news, LG's Watch Urbane 2nd Edition has started popping up for pre-order after being abruptly cancelled late last year. That means Google can finally let the nearly year-old first-gen Watch Urbane die the death LG would probably prefer it died several months ago. Yes, the Urbane is no longer for sale on the Google Store.

Verizon's Version Of The LG Watch Urbane 2 LTE Edition Is Up For Pre-Order For $500, Ships On April 1st

The LG Watch Urbane 2 was exciting when it was announced, since it was the first Android Wear device capable of working as a stand-alone mobile gadget with a built-in LTE connection. Then it wasn't, because LG delayed the launch after an unspecified (but apparently quite serious) hardware defect. Now the launch is back on: AT&T announced its pre-order plans earlier this week, and now it's Verizon's turn. The carrier is taking pre-orders now, with watches shipping (and presumably ready at retail) on April 1st. No foolin'.

A lot of money, as it turns out. While the AT&T version of the Watch Urbane 2 is $360, or $200 with a two-year contract, the Verizon model is a whopping $499.99 outright.

Google Is Working On YouTube Connect, Aiming To Beat Periscope At Its Own Game

VentureBeat is claiming to have wind of a new app by YouTube, named 'Connect.' The app will reportedly be used for live-streaming, in much the same way as Periscope and Facebook. According to VentureBeat's sources, Connect has many of the same features as those two apps, including a 'news feed' to see which of your subscriptions are streaming or have shared video, and chat among users.

This marks the fourth YouTube spin-off app, following GamingMusic, and Kids. It's interesting to note that Connect will introduce a social element to the internet's go-to video service. While YouTube does have a subscription feed updated with videos from creators you subscribe to, it's a poor rendition of a true news feed à la Facebook.

Gmail's Synchronization Bug Is Far From Resolved: Users Still Reporting Issues Despite Promised Fix

It's been more than two months since we first reported the Gmail synchronization woes that many users were facing. The issue itself had been submitted to the Nexus Help Forums even before that, in November, and to the AOSP bug tracker in January.

Everyone affected reported a long delay or lack of notifications from the Gmail app on Android. The circumstances weren't very clear-cut: some had it on Marshmallow but a few reported it on Lollipop (and are now mentioning it on N), some had it on Nexuses but others said it affected other brands of devices too, some only saw the issue with Gmail while others had it across several apps.

Casual Sports Favorite Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings Is Now Available On SHIELD Android TV For Twenty Bucks

Baseball games tend to veer on the side of "simulator" sports titles - they've been getting progressively more complex, and more technically taxing, since the 16-bit days when players stopped looking like a collection of squares. The latest high-profile game to hit NVIDIA's SHIELD Android TV device bucks that trend with a setup tuned for quick play that emphasizes fun over everything else. Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings combines cartoony visuals and an unlicensed feel with surprisingly deep physics and a ton of options. It's available on the Play Store now for the high price of $20, and unfortunately, it's only compatible with the SHIELD TV.

Motorola Is The Favored Phone Brand Of Old West Outlaws In The Company's Latest Commercials

Here's a free tip, would-be criminals: don't tag yourself in photos of an active crime and then post said photos to social media. It's a 21st century problem for those whose leisure activities are just a little bit more than the law will allow, but Motorola has used that interesting situation as a springboard for its latest series of TV ads. The first one, "Photo Opp," is probably the very first time an Old West outlaw has ever been shown with a smartwatch.

Google's New Accessibility Scanner Helps Developers Check Their Apps For Accessibility Issues

Developers, we know you work hard on your apps. So does Google. But they also know that sometimes it's hard to make apps easy to use when you're elbow deep in their design. To that end, the new Accessibility Scanner app allows you to check other apps for potential problems or possible improvements in terms of accessibility. It's a free download in the Play Store, but at the moment it looks like it's limited to Android 6.0 devices.
