[Bug Watch] Vehicle Bluetooth Call Audio Problems Being Reported On All Four Nexus Phones With Marshmallow

A growing thread on the Android issue tracker is home to more and more reports of in-vehicle Bluetooth problems with the Nexus 5, 6, 5X, and 6P. The N5 and N6 allegedly only became affected when their Marshmallow updates rolled out, while the 5X and 6P, which run Marshmallow out of the box, have allegedly had problems from day one. Notably, the Bluetooth issue being cited supposedly was not present in the "M" developer preview releases for the Nexus 5 or 6, suggesting something changed recently to cause it.

The rather irksome bug manifests most commonly as follows. When attempting to dial out to a phone number when your phone is connected to your car via Bluetooth, the call will fail and the car's radio will resume playing whatever audio was on previously.

A New App From ASUS Lets You Control The Company's Wi-Fi Routers From Android

ASUS doesn't just make low-price Android phones and tablets with regrettable amounts of bloatware. The company is a major manufacturer of all kinds of consumer electronics, including laptops, PC components, and network equipment - and ASUS routers have some of the best bang-to-buck ratio on the market. That said, their browser-based management tools are designed for desktops, so accessing them to change any settings on your local Wi-Fi network is a major headache on Android. Until now: ASUS published a router management app in the Play Store earlier this month.

Sony Xperia Z5 Compact Review: The Only Small Phone That Matters

I remember not that long ago thinking that a 4.7-inch phone screen was pretty large. How could they get bigger than that and still be usable? Surely this is the end of the road... and here we are a few years later and the Xperia Z5 Compact is considered diminutive at 4.6-inches. When I say this phone is small (and it is) I mean it's small compared to every other Android flagship.

Consumers have voted with their dollars and told OEMs they want big phones, leaving the Xperia Compact series as your last bastion of tiny flagship phones. When a device basically owns a niche, it doesn't have to be amazing, it just needs to be.

[Update: M9, RE Deals Live] HTC's Black Friday And Cyber Week Deals Include 40% Off Nexus 9, 40% Off M9, And More

HTC's US web store is gearing up for some big sales this holiday shopping season, and as with most things of this sort, it's kicking off on Black Friday. There are some steep discounts happening, but the offerings will change every few days during "Cyber Week," which I guess is a thing now. First up, a killer deal on the Nexus 9.

[Deal Alert] The 9.7-Inch Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 Is Just $359 On eBay ($140 Off) With Free Shipping To The US

Android tablets don't seem to be in high demand since the default size for flagship phones has shifted to "frickin huge," but for those who still want one, there are deals to be had right now. Adorama, a well-known US electronics retailer, is selling the latest Samsung flagship tablet for a significant discount on eBay. The 9.7-inch version of the Galaxy Tab S2, which has a retail price of $500, is just $359 on eBay right now. Both the black and white models are available, and if you live in the lower 48, you get free shipping as well.

Unfortunately, would-be buyers in Alaska and Hawaii are out of luck, as is anyone outside of Canada, Australia, and "Europe." Europe is in quotes there because the list of excluded countries also includes most of continental Europe from Ukraine all the way to Portugal - apparently Adorama thinks that Europe consists of Germany, the UK, and Ireland, and not much else.

[Deal Alert] The Second-Gen Moto G (International GSM Version) Is Just $100 On Amazon, US Version Out Of Stock At The Moment

Black Friday is over, but there are still a ton of great deals waiting for bargain hunters on the web. Amazon has a particularly good sale for anyone who wants a great Motorola phone on the cheap. The international GSM version of the second-gen Moto G (that's the 2014 model) is now $99.99 on Amazon's US site, an impressive $80 off the retail price. It's an excellent deal for someone who needs a solid device without the high price (or, notably, the LTE radio) of more robust models.

Note that this is the global GSM model, not the US GSM version, so while it will work in most countries around the world, it will have poor reception on T-Mobile in the States.

[Deal Alert] Samsung Gear S2 SmartWatch Down $30 Or $40 On Adorama, With Additional $50 Mail-In Rebate

Android Wear is not everyone's thing. I splurged for a Huawei Watch with a mesh link earlier today when Amazon's $100 discount kicked off, but you may not like the look of the Hwatch or the way Android Wear works. Or you might be invested in Samsung's ecosystem and have more faith in the way they handle their wearable's platform. After all, it's your wrist, you can wear whatever you want on it.

In that case, you might want to head to Adorama today. I know, I know, it's not Amazon, and you'll have to create an account if you never shopped there, and do all of that unnecessary work while you're still under the influence of a glucose coma from your meal, but it might be worth the effort of working a few more minutes.
