[OTA ZIP Download] Moto G Google Play Edition Getting Lollipop Update

If you're the owner of a Moto G GPE, your Lollipop update is here. Google and Motorola have begun rolling out the latest version of Android to the budget GPE device, but if you don't have it yet, we've got the direct download link for you at the bottom of this post.

Oddly, even though this new firmware is Android 5.0.1, the build is LRX21Z, which would appear to be older than LRX22C, which is the 5.0.1 build heading out to Nexus and other GPE devices. The update is roughly 380 MB in size and can be flashed via the stock recovery using ADB.

The Nexus 6 Is Now Available From The Play Store In Australia, Ships In 3-4 Weeks

Update: Aaaaaand it's gone, according to Australian site Ausdroid. It looks like Google isn't having it any easier keeping the Nexus 6 in stock in the southern hemisphere.

Psst. Hey, Aussies. Head over to your local Google Play Store's Devices section. You might see something you've been waiting on for a while.

2014 - 1

That's right, the Nexus 6 is now being sold in the Play Store in Australia. And by "being sold," I mean that it's still several weeks away from shipping, but Google will be more than happy to take your money now. At least until the inventory runs out.

[Deal Alert] The Second Generation Moto G Is $30 Off ($149.99) Today On Amazon

One of today's Amazon Gold Box deals is on the second generation Motorola Moto G, arguably the best budget device on the market. For December 9th only and as long as supplies last, the price on the Moto G US and International versions in both black and white is reduced $30, down to $149.99.

If I had to buy an off-contract phone right now, it would probably be this one. Do keep in mind, though, that this kind of price comes with a few limitations. There is not yet a current-generation model that supports LTE, so if you want that, you will have to buy last year's LTE model.

The Nexus 6 Comes To Mexico Next Week Via Motorola.com.mx, 32GB Model Will Sell For 9,999 Pesos

Our readers in Mexico probably don't have a lot of sympathy for those of us still ticked that we can't grab a Nexus 6 from the Play Store or Motorola itself. But starting next week they'll have the chance to get their own... or more likely, be just as pissed at Google's lack of foresight for another major phone launch. Google Mexico just posted the Nexus 6's Mexico launch announcement on Google+.

Here's the skivvy: Mexican Android fans will be able to order the Nexus 6 from Motorola.com.mx (not the Play Store, apparently) starting next week. The price for the 32GB Cloud White model will be 9,999 pesos, approximately $710 at the current exchange rate.

The $40 Nexus 6 Stand Folio (Wallet) Case Is Now In Stock On The Play Store

The Play Store usually gets accessories a few weeks (or more) behind the launch of any new devices. So it is with the Nexus 6: after showing up as "coming soon" about three weeks ago in the US store, the Stand Folio Case is now available for purchase, and should ship within two business days. The case can be yours for a hefty forty bucks, but it's made by the generally reliable Case-Mate, not some no-name accessory mill.

The Stand Folio Case does what it says on the box, so to speak: it's got a leather-style flap cover with two integrated pockets for cards or ID, and two cutouts for the stereo speakers on the Nexus 6.

Verizon Moto X (2014) Android Lollipop Update Now On Its Way To Devices

Motorola got folks pretty excited when it started soak testing Android Lollipop for the pure edition of this year's Moto X, signaling that the update would soon arrive. It did. Many Americans don't even know this is an option, instead walking into the carrier store and pointing out the phone they want to the person in the red shirt. What about them? Well, it looks like something sweet is heading their way.

Motorola has posted the release notes for the Verizon version of the 2014 Moto X. It says what you would expect, that this update will supply users with Lollipop's improvements along with fresher versions of Motorola-exclusive software.
