Android 7.0 Nougat update rolling out to Moto Z, Z Force, Z Droid, and Z Droid Force

Despite being released on August 22, hardly any devices outside of Google's Nexus and Pixel lineups officially run Android Nougat. In fact, only about 0.3% of all Android devices with the Play Store actually have it. Many Verizon customers have reported that their Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Droid Force phones have received OTAs to Nougat.

[Deal Alert] Moto 360 Sport is down to $119.99 on DailySteals

The Moto 360 Sport has plummeted in price since it was released in January. The original $299 asking price was just a bit too high for most consumers, and just four months later, it was removed from the Google Store. The price has only dropped since then, with the watch currently going for $119 at DailySteals.

CyanogenMod 14.1 (Android 7.1) will roll out soon to the Nexus 6P, OnePlus 3, LG G4, and others

There was a time some years ago that CyanogenMod was the surest way to get the latest build of Android on your phone. It's a little slower these days, but development continues to chug along. The CM team hopes to roll out the first nightly builds of CM14.1 later tonight, but not all devices will be supported right away.

Motorola Moto M official in China, with lackluster specs and no Nougat

Motorola's latest phone, the Moto M, has finally materialized on the company's Chinese website after months of rumors. The phone has an all-metal body, a 5.5" 1080p display, a fingerprint sensor on the back, and splash/rain resistance. The specifications are nothing out of the ordinary, besides perhaps the Mediatek CPU in the place of a Qualcomm chip.

Motorola discontinues Moto credit account, existing accounts can make purchases until November 29

When Motorola ramped up its efforts to sell phones directly to consumers, it introduced the Motorola credit account. The account lets you pay off the cost of a device monthly. Not everyone can drop hundreds of dollars up front on an unlocked phone, so this was a welcome option. Not anymore, though. The Motorola credit account is going away.

Motorola partners with Indiegogo to foster development of new Moto Mods

I don't want to say Moto Mods are a universally bad idea, but most of the Mods that have been released so far are mediocre at best, and the prices are crazy. It's been a while since Motorola released a new Mod, but there could be more ideas floating around soon. The company has partnered with crowdfunding site Indiegogo to get developers interested in making Moto Mods.

[Deal Alert] Motorola offers $150 off the Moto Z, Moto Z Droid, and Moto Z Force Droid with promo code

The new Moto Z line is divisive. It's probably the best example in a limited field of new "modular" phones, consisting of only the Z variants and LG's G5... and LG already dropped the modular design for its more recent V20. But if you've been eying either the Verizon-exclusive Moto Z Droid (or the Moto Z Force Droid with a bigger battery) or the unlocked Moto Z, the sticker shock of the phones and the Moto Mod add-ons may have been a disincentive. Now Motorola is giving a generous $150 off all of them on its web store.

Motorola posts kernel source for the Moto Z Play

The unlocked Moto Z Play (code name Addison) recently hit virtual shelves after the Verizon version appeared a few weeks back, and now there's some kernel source to go with it. Motorola tends to be pretty quick with these releases, but it's been a little slower this year. Oh well, developer types can grab the open source files on Motorola's GitHub page right now.

[Deal Alert] 16GB Moto G4 with lockscreen offers on sale for $119.99 ($30 off) for Amazon Prime members

Cheap and good. In the tech world, finding a device with both those attributes can be difficult. The Moto G4 is one of those rare devices that is both inexpensive and satisfying. Ryan called it the best budget phone you can buy in his review and it's easy to see why – the specs of this device are top-notch for the price.
