Motorola's Nexus 6 Pops Up On AT&T Site With Possible $49.99 Price On Contract

If tonight can be compared to Christmas Eve, we've just seen a big, AT&T-shaped box sitting in the living room. As carriers are wont to do, it appears AT&T has already set up a URL for Motorola's Nexus 6, confirming that the carrier will carry the new whale-sized Nexus.

The URL won't take you to a product listing just yet, but if you travel a short way to the LG G3 Vigor listing, you'll see a tile in the sidebar showing the Nexus 6 for $49.99 on contract.

Tip: Flip The Moto 360 Face Down When Not In Use To Save Battery Life In Ambient Mode

The Moto 360 isn't a perfect device, but it's still probably the king of Android Wear smart watches for the time being. One of the cool things about the 360 is the smarter way it makes use of ambient mode (not the ambient light sensor, that's different). The screen will stay on so you can see it without the full wrist-flip gesture, but you can make use of ambient mode to save power when you're not wearing the watch—just lay it face down.

Verizon's @DroidLanding Twitter Account Teases The Droid Turbo In Red [Update: Tweet Deleted]

The Moto X is out, and it's one of the best phones Motorola or anyone has ever made. Last year the Moto X was announced in tandem with the new Droids, but this year we're still waiting. It can't be long, though. The @DroidLanding Twitter account has just posted a teaser for the Droid Turbo, and it's red. Update: It looks like Verizon pulled the Tweet, but it's too late. WE ALREADY SAW IT, VERIZON.

Motorola Camera Updated With Remote Shutter For Android Wear, Performance Improvements, And KitKat Compatibility For Some Reason

Motorola has pushed an update to its camera app in the Play Store with a few performance improvements and remote shutter for Android Wear, just like the official Google camera. The new version also includes KitKat compatibility, according to the changelog. Strange considering KitKat has been out for a year, but okay.

Here's the full changelog just so we're clear.

  • Remote shutter control for Android Wear watches
  • Performance improvements and bug fixes
  • Updated application will be compatible with Android KitKat

Motorola has taken a lot of heat for mediocre camera performance, but at least it can offer camera updates in the Play Store.

The guide doesn't show a photo of the back of the device, but it does confirm (on page 54) that a back plate that leaked last month is accurate.

Moto X (2014) Review: A Nearly Perfect Android Phone

The original Moto X was a very well-reviewed phone, but it just didn't sell as well as Motorola and Google had hoped. It deserved more attention than it got, but the smartphone consuming public can be a fickle beast. That's why this year's Moto X makes a few changes to appeal to a wider audience. It's a little bigger, a lot faster, and has a more premium design.

This approach is rife with benefits and a few drawbacks, but one thing is certain, this is one of the best smartphones ever created.

[Deal Alert] Unlocked First Generation Moto X (16GB) On Sale Through eBay For $249.99

The new Moto X is out, but that first generation version is still pretty good. Motorola has stopped selling the device directly, though. That's $150 less than the last regular price for the unlocked Moto X from Motorola.
