Update: It looks like Moto killed this deal. The coupon code no longer works, and the form has been removed.

If you bought a XOOM, the chances are that you need some accessories to go along with it. Motorola sees that need (and wants to make money), so until June 26, 2011, if you fill out this form, then you'll receive a coupon good for 50% off XOOM accessories at the Motorola store. If you also happened to cash in on this deal, then you could be swimming in all kinds of add-on goodness right now.

Of course, Moto doesn't want to hook everyone up, so you won't be able to complete the form without verifying either the MEID or MAC address of your XOOM.

If you've been patiently waiting to start renting movies on your XOOM Wi-Fi, then your moment has arrived. According to this tweet from Motorola, you can now rent movies via the Android Market - granted you're not rooted, of course. It looks like the Movies tab still isn't appearing directly in the Android Market, but all you need to do is download and install the official Videos app from Google and you'll be ready to rent and watch all the movies you can handle.

You can grab the app from the widget below.

If you attempt to install this on the Verizon XOOM, you won't get very far - it shows up as "already installed" as Movies has been supported since the 3.1 update.

So, you've invested a chunk of change in a Motorola XOOM and you want to make sure that it stays in one piece, right? Otterbox has come to the rescue to fit that bill perfectly with the new Defender case for the XOOM. In typical Otterbox fashion, this case is made to protect your device from drops and other mishaps, while adding a bit of functionality and style. It features a "high quality polycarbonate shell" that snaps around the outside of the tablet, with a silicon skin that hugs the shell to absorb impacts.

The back of the case features a much-desired kickstand that provides two different angles for use with a keyboard, watching videos, etc.

In an effort to get XOOMs flying off the shelves for Father's Day and graduation time, Motorola is offering a pretty sweet deal: between now and June 14th, if you buy a XOOM directly from them, you'll get a free Bluetooth keyboard (valued at $69.99). If that deal isn't already sweet enough, though, you'll also get free 2-day shipping on the order.

There is one catch, however: this deal is not applicable on the 3G XOOM if you bundle it with a plan - but if you plan on buying it outright (without signing a contract), then you're good to go.

Do you wish your XOOM was an ASUS Transformer - but leather? Motorola's got a new keyboard / leather folio case out for the XOOM, and it's on sale for a pretty reasonable $85. Spiffy. It's unknown if the keyboard is connecting via Bluetooth, but that seems like the most obvious way to go about doing this, as there's no mention of any sort of charging functionality, so we assume it's all done sans wires. You can get it from Verizon here. Oh, and the $85 price tag includes free 2 day shipping. Sounds like a deal to us.

Intro

For the past 3 weeks, I've been rigorously testing Samsung's latest Android tablet - the Galaxy Tab 10.1, and I am happy to report that my verdict is now out. I hope you will forgive such a long review timeline, but I wanted to really dig in deep and get the full experience, all while comparing it to that of the Motorola XOOM.

I know a lot of you will jump to the Conclusion right away, but I urge you to read all the interesting sections as well - In A Nutshell, The Good, and The Not So Good at a minimum.

When Google announced its highly anticipated Music beta service at I/O last week, we were told that, aside from I/O attendees, Verizon XOOM owners would be among the first to get to use the service. Holding true to that, Google has officially started sending out the invites this morning.

As far as we know, this is exclusive to Verizon customers right now, with no word when owners of other models (or other devices) can expect to get the invite (aside from attendees with their Galaxy Tab 10.1's).

Have any of you received your invite yet? Drop us a line when you do and let us know how you feel about the service.

About 2 weeks ago, in collaboration with NVIDIA we threw our largest giveaway ever, with the grand prize of a Wi-Fi Motorola XOOM, one of the hottest tablets around. What happened next was way above any expectations I've set for this contest - there were over 3,300 entries between Twitter and Facebook, with Twitter leading the pack with about 1900 and Facebook trailing behind with about 1400.

At first, NVIDIA was concerned about running the giveaway in countries outside the U.S. but we wanted as many of you to participate as possible, so we pushed for it and managed to get as many countries outside the U.S.

The Android 3.1 update that's been rolling out to Motorola XOOMs all week (yes, including the Wi-Fi versions) contains quite a few improvements to the Android experience, such as better stability, resizable widgets, and an extended app switcher. However, one thing this update does not contain (and actively cleans up if you had it before) is root.

This article deals with a couple of advanced topics. If you’re unfamiliar with some of the terms, hit up our primers here:

Whether you want to regain root on your 3.1 XOOM or root the whole thing the very first time, publicanimal from xda has you covered with full instructions of unprecedented clarity and presentation.

Yesterday Motorola officially announced that Android 3.1 would be hitting Verizon 3G XOOMs first, then WiFi and other variants "in the next several weeks." I'm not really sure how Motorola defines "several weeks," but it appears to be a little bit different than the rest of the world, as we're starting to see reports pop up all over the net that suggest the update may already be underway.

That's about as deep as the details go for now, but if you get the update on your XOOM, make sure to let us know!

Update: It doesn't get much more official than this:

It's about time a manufacturer started over-delivering for a change.
