[Deal Alert] Off-Contract LG Optimus G Pro Available On Amazon For $414, $24 Less Than AT&T's Recent Price Drop

It's a good time to be in the market for an LG Optimus G Pro from AT&T. Last week, the network dropped the off-contract price of the powerful handset down from $549.99 to $439.99. Now Amazon has bested that price by over $20. For just $414.96, this handset can be yours to use free of the confines of a two-year contract. I may not be in the majority with this opinion, but I find it's the only way to live.

[SIMply Absurd] LG Partners With MediaTek To Create Triple-SIM Phones

Almost all the GSM phones released in North America have a single SIM card, but there are a lot of areas of the world where having a dual-SIM device is a big advantage. These devices can utilize two networks at the same time for calls, data, and SMS. For when two just isn't enough, LG is going to soon offer phones with three SIM slots.

LG is teaming up with MediTek to create the new triple-SIM devices, which will almost certainly never arrive in the US.

Low-End LG Enact Tipped For Verizon, Sports Physical Buttons (Including Menu) And Meh Specs

Sometimes we're completely blown away by what carriers have coming down the pike. This is not one of those times.

Looks like Verizon is once again teaming up with LG for a low-end device, which @evleaks claims will be called the Enact, and has a model number of VS890. There is literally nothing remarkable about this phone, save for the fact that LG decided to give the Gingerbread days a nod and resurrect the physical menu button:

If you've got a hankering for a beefy smartphone rocking a new Snapdragon 600, consider the AT&T Optimus G Pro. Ah, but the contract, you say. Well, AT&T has just dropped the off-contract price to $439.99. It used to be $549.99. All the contract deals have remained the same, but eBay doesn't even sell the G Pro as cheaply as AT&T does now.

This is the AT&T-branded Optimus, remember. That means some AT&T junk on the device.

LG And Virgin Announce The Optimus F3, Now Available For $179.99

The LG Optimus F3 is available today for $179.99 off-contract with Virgin Mobile. The phone comes with Android 4.1.2, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, and a commendable 2,460mAh battery. The 4G LTE-capable handset will reportedly last long enough to sustain a sixteen hour conversation, though such battery life might require more work on your end when throwing out the dead battery excuse to avoid people.

The LG Optimus F3 has a 4-inch screen shielded with Gorilla Glass 2, a 5MP camera in the back, and your typical inferior camera on the front.

How To: Update The Nexus 4 To Android 4.3 (JWR66N) From The Leaked System Dump

Several hours ago, an Android 4.3 system dump was leaked for the Nexus 4. As it turns out, even though the bootloader and the radios weren't included, the system dump is totally bootable. I'm running it right now. If you want to try it out, it's easy to do so, but be prepared to have your bootloader unlocked and flash some zips via a custom recovery. If you don't know what any of this means, I suggest you get familiarized with Android flashing first.

Download: Android 4.3 For Google Nexus 4 Leaks (JWR66N) - Here's The System Dump [Updated]

For the past few hours, I've been observing a curious case of Jeff Williams on Google+. Jeff posted a screenshot of what he claimed was a Nexus 4 he bought from a Googler... with a build of Android 4.3 on it. The same build, JWR66N, that we saw leaked earlier on a Galaxy S4 GPE by SamMobile.

In disbelief, some have called him a hoaxer, but a number of resourceful folks decided to get Jeff on IRC (channel #Android43 on freenode) and worked with him for hours, trying over and over to get the magical system dump that would prove Jeff's story to be real.

LG Ditches 'Optimus' For 'G Premium Brand' – Next Flagship To Be Officially Called G2

In a short press release sent out this evening, LG announced that it would be ditching the word (is it a word?) "Optimus" from its premium branding, opting to keep only the "G".

Furthermore, the release reaffirms the name of the company's upcoming flagship – G2.

The release contained one other tidbit – going forward, "LG's premium 4:3 display smartphones will be rebranded as simply 'Vu'." Yes, there will be at least one more Vu, if not more.

[Lets Try This Again] T-Mobile Updates Optimus L9 To Android 4.1.2 With Firmware P76920f

Sometimes making the jump to the next version of Android introduces more cons than pros. This reality caused T-Mobile to pause and take a step back the last time it started to roll out Jelly Bean to the LG Optimus L9. Users complained of excessive battery drain and difficulty receiving calls, among other things. It's been a couple of months since that debacle, and now the carrier is ready to try again.
