[Deal Alert] LG Revolution On Wirefly For $200

If you're lookin' to score the newly-released LG Revolution, but the $250 price tag is a bit steep for you, then hop on over to Wirefly, where you can get VZW's newest 4G LTE device for $200. I realize that may not be the deal of the century, but c'mon - a deal is a deal, right?

It's Official: LG Revolution Hits Verizon Stores May 26, Packs LTE, Bing, And Froyo For $250 With Contract

Official word just came our way from Verizon that the LG Revolution will be available at Verizon beginning tomorrow. Let's be honest: the Revolution is not an exciting device, and as with the Charge, is probably overpriced for what it is. But then again, it's not as though the Revolution is sub-par, either:

  • 1GHz Snapdragon processor
  • Verizon LTE
  • Android 2.2 (ಠ_ಠ)
  • 4.3" 480x800 display
  • Bing (ಠ_ಠ)
  • 5.0MP camera with flash (rear), 1.3MP (front)
  • 720p video recording
  • 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi
  • 16GB microSD card preinstalled

Aside from the LTE, some fairly average specs by today's standards. Still, the similarly-equipped Droid Incredible 2 managed to impress me, and David had a chance to play with the Revolution at CTIA and came away with a positive impression.

Confirmed: The (LG) Revolution Will Be Televised May 26 - With Netflix And A Sexy New Black Paint Job

Droid-life just broke the news: the Revolution is coming, on May 26th, to be precise.

That's right - the LG Revolution, Verizon's third 4G LTE smartphone, is dropping next Thursday to a Verizon near you - packing a 4.3" WVGA display, a 1GHz MSM-series Snapdragon processor (same one you'll find in the Thunderbolt), and a 16GB SD card pre-installed.

The revolution has received a cosmetic touch-up for its debut next week, and now sports a sleek black battery cover and frame (it was brushed aluminum-look, previously), take a look:

We took a look at the Revolution (hands-on here) way back at CES in January, and I had some time to play with it at CTIA back in March.

[I/O 2011] Android Alliance Promises Timely Android OS Updates For 18 Months After Device Launch

This is huge. Like, massively huge. Probably the best thing to come out of Google I/O so far this morning huge. I'm talking about the Android Alliance and the solution to a problem that has plagued Android users since the beginning of time (okay, maybe not that long).

The Android Alliance is a special task force dedicated to delivering Android updates quickly and efficiently to all devices for 18 months after they're released. Among the companies involved are Verizon, HTC, Samsung (imagine that), Sprint, Sony Ericsson, LG, T-Mobile, Vodafone, Motorola, and AT&T - which basically covers most of the Android world.

[Download] CM7 Nightlies For The LG G2x and Optimus 2X

The LG G2x is showing up all over the place today, isn't it? This time it's joined by its cousin, the Optimus 2X, as they are both graced with the custom ROM goodness of CyanogenMod. Be warned, though - these are only nightly builds so they are not yet polished, final versions of CM7. They are however, official CyanogenMod builds from TeamDouche, not ported versions from other developers.

Now that you know what's up, you can grab the downloads from their respective threads over at XDA.

[Deal Alert] T-Mobile LG G2x For $99 from Radio Shack - Today Only

A couple of weeks ago we told you how to get the G2x for $50 from CellHub (it jumped up to $100 shortly after we posted the article). If you still want to score a G2x for less than $100, but don't want to order from a vendor that you've never heard of, then you're in luck. Today only, RadioShack.com is offering the G2x for $99 with any qualifying contract. That's right, it doesn't have to be a new contract like most deals - The Shack wants to give this hook up to anyone that is eligible for upgrade.

[Leak] An Early Look At Gingerbread For The T-Mobile G2x

What's this that I have stumbled across this morning? It's none other than some pictures and video footage from This Is My Next of the T-Mobile LG G2x running Gingerbread! No, not a rooted, AOSP version of Gingerbread - it looks to be an official build.

Shortly after the launch of the G2x, T-Mobile said that it would be getting Gingerbread "soon". Of course, we all took that with a grain of salt because, let's be honest here, carriers aren't really the most reliable when it comes to updating their phones. If this video is indeed legit, and I'd like to believe that it is, then it's proof that T-Mo may be a cut above the rest.
