Easily the coolest part of LG's custom Android skin is KnockOn, a feature introduced with the G2 that allows users to knock on a sleeping phone to wake it up. Knock Code, a pattern-based alternative with a bit more security, was introduced with the G Pro 2 and other phones at Mobile World Congress. According to a new press release, LG will make good on its promise to expand this feature to other phones, starting with the G2 and G Flex in April.
LG has a new commercial for the G Flex online, and it is exceptionally bizarre – and not in a good way. In the ad, a man receives a new G Flex, but upon opening the box his hand is transformed into a horrifying living phone with a mouth and an ear. He doesn't seem appropriately concerned about this.
Sprint has been marketing push-to-talk functionality (a walkie-talkie style function that's popular with business users) since long before Android came into being. Though the feature isn't nearly as common as it once was, Sprint seems ready to keep it going with an update to the official Android app. The Direct Connect service is now compatible with a handful of new phones, most notably headliners like the Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 3, and LG G2.
If you've been holding your breath for LG's curved, flexible G Flex and... well, the somewhat less remarkable Optimus F3Q to come to Magenta, then you won't have to wait much longer. T-Mobile announced this morning that both smartphones will be available starting on February 5th online and at retailers. The G Flex will cost $672 ($28 a month on T-Mobile's two-year payment plan), while the budget QWERTY slider will cost $312 ($13 for 24 months).

Three hundred greenbacks will get you the new phone on contract, while you'll need a whopping $694.99 to buy it outright or spread the cost over an interest-free Next plan. The phone will ship out for pre-orders on Tuesday, February 4th.
LG's curvalicious smartphone made the jump straight from Asia to North America, but now it's going to cover some of the ground in between. Starting next month, the G Flex will start arriving in Europe. It is expected to be on sale in more than 20 nations in short order.
The main selling point of this device is, of course, the 6-inch curved P-OLED screen. It's only 720p, but the rest of the specs are top-of-the-line.
Last week Sprint was proud to announce that it was the first carrier in the US that would let consumers pre-order the LG G Flex. All the company wanted was a $299.99 down payment and a two-year contract. Now AT&T is jumping in by delivering the same handset at the same price, though its customers also have the option to pay $26.74 for eighteen months or $34.75 for twelve with an AT&T Next plan.
The LG G Flex isn't the kind of phone you recommend to everyone. Sure, it has a curved screen, but what is that actually good for? Yet if you've been craving this phone since watching it heal itself (which is admittedly pretty cool), Sprint's gearing up to put one in your hands pretty soon. The handset is now available for pre-order at a price point of $299.99 with a two-year contract.
At the LG CES press conference the company let loose some welcome news for the American market: their unique G Flex smartphone will be coming to AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint carriers at some point this year. (Sorry, Verizon customers, looks like you're last one out again.) If you'll recall, the G Flex is LG's high-end flexible, curved-display phone announced late last year. T-Mobile has confirmed that they will carry the G Flex in a separate press release.
