Sprint HTC One Getting First OTA Update (1.29.651.10): Supposedly Fixes Dreaded Capacitive Button Sensitivity Issues

Sprint's version of the HTC One is about to receive a much-needed OTA update, albeit a relatively minor one, that promises to fix the rather annoying home and back button sensitivity issues that have been afflicting the handset. I commented on this issue in my review of the One, and while I called it minor then, the more I used the phone, the more annoying it become in certain situations - particularly when holding the phone while lying down.

CyanogenMod 10.1 Official Nightly Builds Released For GSM And Sprint HTC One Models [Updated]

Have you got a shiny new HTC One in your pocket, but the company's lackluster advertising has only made you more aware of your hatred for Sense 5? Do you long for stock Android, but crave power user features? Does your heart know no fear of voided warranties? Then today is your lucky day, assuming you're using an international GSM or Sprint model. The CyanogenMod custom ROM is now available in 10.1 (Jelly Bean 4.2) flavor for both versions of the One, albeit only in a test build (pre-nightly) format.

As the weekend begins, you know deep down inside what's missing in your life. Happiness, love, and security? Nah, if that's what you were about to say, that's dead wrong. The Droid DNA certainly fits the description, and it just so happens it can be yours for the low price of $19.99 (some restrictions apply, phone will not love you back).

HTC One Commercials Highlight BlinkFeed, Literally Throw Dirt On The Competition

The HTC One is pretty great, and HTC has had no problem vividly illustrating its hardware features. Now they've moved on to the software in a pair of 30-second TV spots. The ads are all about BlinkFeed, HTC's proprietary social/news stream, and the centerpiece of the Sense 5 user interface. The commercials get right to the point, showing that other phones make you "dig" for information and content, while the mighty One with BlinkFeed puts everything you want right there on the home screen.

HTC One 32, 64GB Variants In Stealth Black Go Up For Sale At AT&T

HTC's One, the phone that has people once again excited about the quietly brilliant Taiwanese manufacturer, went on sale around the middle of last month at AT&T, though at the time only its Glacial Silver variant was up for grabs.

Today, AT&T added the Stealth Black HTC One to its stock. For those wondering, yes, the 32GB and 64GB models are both available, for $199.99 and $299.99 respectively (with a two-year contract).

AT&T Drops The Price Of The HTC First To $0.99, Probably The Best Damn Phone You'll Find For A Dollar

When I reviewed the First, I realized it was much, much more than just a Facebook experience device. Sure, it's sporting Home out of the box, flashes a Facebook logo during the boot process, and is adorned with that same logo on the back, but it's not just about Facebook. This little diamond in the rough is running stock Android 4.1.2 beneath Facebook Home, so you're quite literally three (or so) taps away from a Nexus-like experience.

HTC First Review: The Phone You Didn't Realize You'd Actually Want

Facebook phone. Those two words in that order have been repeated over and over again for the last couple of years, simply as rumors for the longest time. Then the HTC Status hit the scene with an integrated Facebook button – still, Zuckerberg himself claimed that it wasn't Facebook's phone.

Many months later, the rumor mill started whirring once again about an alleged phone designed just for Facebook. This time, for some reason, the rumors held more water.

[Rant] Reality Check - HTC Has Plans For Bluetooth LE And OpenGL ES 3.0 But It Doesn't Make Them "Android 4.3 Features"

It's 4 a.m., I just read the 6th mention of the same misleading story in the last 24 hours, and it's time for a rant.

Yesterday, several "independent" reports all claiming to arrive at the same conclusion at the same time (does anyone properly credit their sources anymore?) appeared on the web suggesting HTC had just (*gasp*) leaked two new Android 4.3 features: Bluetooth Low-Energy and OpenGL ES 3.0. And it's done so via a public meetup organized by the San Francisco Android User Group.

[Deal Alert] HTC Droid DNA $50 For Upgrades And New Contracts From HTC Direct

The Droid DNA may not have Boomsound, Ultrapixels, or other HTC-branded buzzwords, but it's most definitely the best HTC device you'll find on Verizon right now. And if you're dead set on not paying more than a fifty spot for a new phone, the DNA is your ticket to a high-end smartphone that won't break the bank - , so long as you're willing to buy directly from HTC.

It's pretty rare that we find the manufacturer of a device selling its phones cheaper than, say, Amazon Wireless or Wirefly, but that's exactly what HTC is doing here with the DNA.

HTC Extends $100 Trade-Up Program Again: Purchase Date Moved To May 19th, Redeem By June 19th

It's no secret that HTC has had some issues getting component suppliers to take it seriously after a few bad years. This has led to delays in getting the much-improved HTC One on store shelves. As such, the Taiwanese company has already extended its $100 trade-in program once, and now it's doing so again. You now have almost another full month to take HTC's free money when you buy the One.
