Hulu Plus Update Finally Brings Tablet-Optimized UI To Select Devices

If you're at all into TV, you've heard of Hulu. Chances are, you're watching something on Hulu right now on your PC, phone, XBOX360, Wii, Roku, PS3, iPad, 3DS, or any of the other supported devices. The list is pretty long, but until today it had one glaring omission - Android tablets. Sure, some tablets, like the Kindle Fire, HTC Flyer, or the Vizio VTAB, were already supported, but they were running Gingerbread and didn't have a proper tablet UI. Well, no more.

Hulu has released an update to the Hulu Plus (app available to Plus subscribers for $7.99 a month) that introduces a brand new tablet-optimized interface and support for the following tablet devices:

  • Asus Eee Pad Transformer
  • Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime
  • Motorola Xoom
  • Motorola XYBoard 10.1
  • Toshiba Thrive
  • Acer Iconia (although it's unclear which Iconia exactly, because the A100 is incompatible - they probably mean the A500)
  • LG G-Slate
  • HTC Flyer
  • Vizio 8" Tablet

It was puzzling to see no mention of any Galaxy Tab variants on that list, most notably the 10.1, and I've confirmed it's indeed listed as incompatible.

[Rumor] HTC One S Possibly Hitting T-Mobile On April 22

If you're waiting for the One S to hit T-Mobile, a new piece of information just hit the scene that may be of interest to you. This particular piece of information clearly shows the release date for the device: April 22.

You know the drill with this sort of thing, though: this is just a rumor and it could change at a moments notice. With that said, this leak appears to be pretty official, so it looks like T-Mo is pretty dang close to getting its first HTC device with ICS (if the Amaze or Sensation updates don't roll out first, that is).

T-Mobile Announces Ice Cream Sandwich Updates For The Amaze 4G And Sensation, But Gives No Other Details

Good news for T-Mo customers with either the HTC Sensation 4G or the Amaze 4G: ICS is coming your way... sometime in the future. T-Mobile just updated its support documents for each device stating that they will be getting Ice Cream Sandwich, but it's just not sure when that's going to happen.

There are no other details available at this time, either - but it's still nice to know that Magenta loves you enough to go ahead and put the info out there that you will be getting ICS. T-Mobile should update the support docs accordingly as new information becomes available, so we'll definitely be keeping an eye out for any new developments.

New Rumors About Sprint's Variant Of The HTC One X Surface, Could Be Called The EVO One

So here we go - the rumor mill is really starting to churn out some seemingly solid details about Sprint's supposed version of the upcoming HTC One X. We first heard about this device shortly after the One X's official announcement back at Mobile World Congress, then rumored to be called the Jewel. Rumors later suggested the name internal name was actually Jet, but few other details have made their way to the masses - until now. 

I briefly suggested that the name of the device could be the EVO LTE, as it's said to be the newest successor in the EVO line.

AT&T Officially Starts The HTC Vivid ICS OTA (3.26.502.56710RD) - Sense 3.6, Beats, Face Unlock, And More

Last week, AT&T made the Ice Cream Sandwich update available for the HTC Vivid, but rather than pushing it to devices over-the-air, the company let it sit and incubate, denying its availability.

Those with deeper knowledge of phone commands figured out how to get the Vivid to ask the update servers for this OTA (*#*#682#*#* - 682 stands for OTA, get it?) and successfully updated, but most Vivid owners to this day probably have no idea this method even exists.

As of today, however, no such trickery is needed - HTC USA just announced on Twitter that the ICS update for the Vivid is officially rolling out and provided this handy page with more details:

Sprint And HTC To Make Announcement On April 4th, Will Almost Certainly Be Sprint Version Of The One X

Update: We've blurred out some information from the invite at Sprint's request. Excuse the artistic license taken. By the way, the announcement will take place in New York City and starts at 5:30PM EST sharp. Oh, and the blurred out part at the bottom said "click here." In case you were wondering.

A handful of media outlets have begun receiving invitations to an event showcasing HTC and Sprint's "latest collaboration," and if it's anything other than an EVO-branded version of HTC's new flagship device, the One X, we'll be thoroughly surprised.

LogMeIn Rescue To Be Pre-Installed On All Future HTC Devices, Provide Remote Support To Customers

LogMeIn has announced a partnership with HTC that will see its Rescue software pre-installed on all future Android smartphones and tablets. Using a combination of an applet on HTC devices and support software across the company's worldwide call centers, customers will be provided with remote support that allows the person on the other end of the phone to take control of your device and run various tests.

To protect customers from inadvertently handing their phone over to a stranger, the applet will only "securely connect their devices to HTC customer care representatives during active support calls."

Once a technician is connected to a device they will be able to run remote diagnostics, push common device and network configuration settings, and remotely control the customer's device to resolve issues.

HTC Drops ICS Kernel Source For Sensation, Sensation XE, Vivid – Get It While It's Hot

Just under a week after starting the Sensation's Ice Cream Sandwich Rollout, HTC has dropped the ICS kernel source for the Sensation, Sensation XE, and Vivid, much to the delight of their respective development communities. This news follows hot on the heels of Samsung's Galaxy SII kernel source drop, and seems to suggest a promising pattern among the two manufacturers of maintaining punctuality in releasing source.

For the many developers who have been prodding HTC to release the source since the devices' ICS updates started rolling out, this is great news, and should give a jolt to Sensation and Vivid development.

HTC One X For Sprint Details Surface, Rumored To Be Codenamed 'Jet' And Possibly Arriving In June

In late February, we reported on a rumored HTC device very similar to the ONE X potentially heading to Sprint called the Jewel. New information about this device has now surfaced thanks to the crew over at S4GRU, but it turns out that it may not be codenamed Jewel after all - internally, it's being called the Jet.

The Jet is said to be identical to the One X in every way, except it's packing CDMA1X/EV-DO/LTE radios instead of the GSM/LTE radios of its AT&T counterpart. The Jet is rumored to be Sprint's third LTE device (behind the Galaxy Nexus and LG Viper) and the successor to the groundbreaking EVO 4G.

Ice Cream Sandwich. It's more than a buzzword in the Android community right now - it's what most users are waiting for in one way or another. Some are waiting on the update to roll out to their device, while others are still waiting to find out if their device will even get the update. For HTC Rezound users, however, the wait ends today - as long as they're willing to flash a leaked firmware, that is.

This is a release candidate for the OTA and by no means a final version.
