HTC Finally Releases Missing AT&T HTC One Kernel Source, Along With The Long-Lost Thunderbolt ICS Source

HTC must've been doing a bit of spring (read: summer) cleaning when it suddenly stumbled across some source code that should've been released to the public ages ago. First up is the AT&T HTC One's kernel source, which was nowhere to be found back in late April when all other One variants' source hit the scene.

What's even more interesting, however, is that the company also released the Thunderbolt's ICS kernel source. Just now. If you remember, the TBolt (finally) got its taste of ICS back in February – four full months ago. Better late than never, I suppose.

If you're the tinkerin' type, a ROM maintainer, a source code collector, a or just someone who likes to download things, you'll find all the new source code offerings at the link below.

Everyone likely to read this knows that root can unlock a lot of doors for Android modding, and an unlocked bootloader opens even more. But for HTC phones, S-OFF is the ultimate in control, allowing users essentially unlimited access to every piece of code on the device. The Revolutionary dev team has released a new S-OFF method for the HTC One. You may remember these guys from exploits on most of the major HTC phones from 2011 and earlier.

S-OFF refers to a signature check and write access security in locked HTC phones. When it's on, the phone checks for signatures on certain portions of the software - the radio, recovery, certain parts of the system drive, and a few others - and keeps the user from writing to restricted areas.

HTC One Mini (a.k.a. M4) Spotted In Leaked Photos Next To Its Bigger Brother

Making slightly smaller versions of your flagship smartphone with the "mini" designation seems to be all the rage these days. Just a week after Samsung confirmed its Galaxy S4 Mini, we're seeing compelling evidence that HTC's One Mini (possibly codenamed the M4 - the One was the M7) is close to completion. Estonian website Forte has a wide variety of leaked shots showing what's purported to be a One Mini in black, standing grille-to-grille with its larger sibling.
