AmazonWireless has gone slashing more prices today - this time on the EVO 3D. You can pick up the 3D on a new 2-year agreement or line addition to your existing Sprint account for just $150 right now. That's $30 less than it was yesterday, so if you've been waiting for the right price to pick up your 3D, now seems like the time to do it. Those looking to upgrade from their current Sprint handsets will still have to pay the old price ($180).

HTC Is "Diligently Working" On That EVO 3D Bootloader Unlock, In Case You Were Wondering

EVO 3D owners across the US have been patiently waiting a whole 3 days (I know, it's an eternity) for HTC to make good on its promise to unlock the phone's bootloader. HTC has now issued a statement on the matter in response to a wall post on its Facebook page, which is overrun with complaints from EVO 3D owners (or people who just like to whine) criticizing what they perceive to be the slowness of the company's efforts to issue a bootloader unlock solution.

While HTC never made promises about a time frame, there's still no shortage of angry EVO 3D customers to be found on the company's Facebook wall.

Update: It turns out that this may not be as encompassing as we originally thought. According to Reddit member apantek, only a very limited amount of bloatware can be removed, leaving the bulk of it untouchable (this has been confirmed by our own Jaroslav Stekl). The unremovable files include:

Footprints
HTC Hub
Peep
Picasa web albums
Polaris Office
Ringtone Trimmer
Spider-Man
Sprint Zone
The Green Hornet 3D

So, while Sprint may be making steps in the right direction, it's not completely there yet.

HTC Has A "Sense" Of Humor - Friend Stream Widget References Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

Complaints about HTC's Sense UI becoming increasingly bloated are nothing new, but there's no denying that the skin has its upsides - and Reddit user TheEntireUniverse just unearthed another such boon. Behold, the preview image for Sense 3.0's "Friend Stream" widget:

For those not familiar with the reference, Jill Valentine is one of the main characters in the popular Resident Evil franchise, and the Nemesis-destroys-a-helicopter story was taken right out of the third game in the series.

So how does it all end? To find out, you'll have to wait for HTC Sense 4.0, which will introduce the revolutionary new "Nemesis Stream" widget.

Well - wait no more, because you can get it right now directly from Sprint for $199 with a two-year agreement. If you're not eligible for upgrade, but you just can't resist the 3D goodness of this handset, then you'll have to muster up the guts to give away 550 big ones to get it in your hands.

Judging by the flyer, we're assuming that it will ship today (if you order it today, of course), but we have no verification at the moment.

And I'll tell you this: they're pretty mixed. Some reviewers, such as LaptopMag's Mark Spoonauer, wholeheartedly enjoyed the device, even going so far as to give it an Editors' Choice award. Others, however, weren't nearly as fond of the phone - Gizmodo, upfront as always, called it "only suitable for shooting yourself in the face." Ouch.

Official HTC EVO 3D Desktop Dock Listed As "Coming Soon" At Best Buy, And It's Quite A Looker

If you're planning on picking up an EVO 3D on June 24, you might want to set aside some cash to grab this sleek-looking desktop dock to go with it. The HTC-made accessory is currently listed as "coming soon" on Best Buy's website, so chances are you'll be able to pick one up on launch day.

The dock uses a 5-pin microUSB port for charging that is also MHL adapter-compatible (read more about this snazzy microUSB and microHDMI hybrid here), and despite the plastic construction, looks damn sexy doing it. You'll have to drop $50 to get it, but it'll be a nice replacement for the EVO 3D's missing kickstand, at least while it's parked on your desk.

Today must be a good day for deals - first the Acer Iconia Tab A500 for $380, and now the Wirefly has the HTC EVO 3D for $150 with a two-year agreement. Considering that this device isn't slated to hit shelves for another two weeks, this is an excellent price (the lowest we've seen yet).

Update 6/8/11: If you're set to only order from Amazon for some reason, their EVO 3D pre-order page just went up as well with the same price.

The official launch date and price for the HTC EVO 3D was just announced this morning, but Wirefly already has a pre-order deal of its own going on. Right now, you can ensure that you'll have this device ready and waiting for you on launch day for $180 with a two-year agreement, which is about $20 less then you'll be paying at Sprint. This deal includes free shipping, and you probably won't have to worry about paying sales tax (in most states), either.
